Finding an ‘off the beaten track’ relaxing holiday in Thailand is becoming increasingly difficult as most of Thailand is now a fairly well-trodden path.
However, there are some nice options if getting away from the mainstream is the goal. There are some beautiful little-developed islands in the south of Thailand.
Koh Kradan and Koh Mook are both little-known but have lovely beaches and that Robinson Crusoe feel. Koh Lipe is also emerging as a new destination close to the border with Malaysia.
Close to Phuket, Koh Yao Noi and Koh Yao Yai are little-known and have some nice boutique hotel options. Further north in the Gulf of Thailand, Koh Kood offers an undeveloped island option.
