The Majestic Saigon

The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur opened in 2013 offering a great colonial style boutique hotel in Kuala Lumpur, ideal for a luxurious stopover en-route to one of the hotels sister island resorts, namely Pangkor Laut, Tanjong Jara or Gaya Island Resort in Borneo.

Built in 1932 and opened as the original Majestic Hotel, the Majestic quickly became one of the great hotels of Kuala Lumpur in its time and an iconic Kuala Lumpur landmark in the middle of the 20th century.

Located on 3 acres of land opposite the striking old Moorish style railway station, the Majestic Kuala Lumpur is very convenient for KL Sentral Station with its express rail link to the airport. Kuala Lumpur City Centre and the ‘Golden Triangle’ are just ten minutes away by taxi.

This location is known as the historical mile of Kuala Lumpur and in the vicinity are many of Kuala Lumpur’s tourist attractions, including the National Museum, National Mosque, Islamic Arts Museum, Lake Gardens, and Bird and Butterfly Parks.

The Majestic has two wings – a grander Tower Wing with modern spacious rooms and suites, and the original Majestic Wing with its 1930’s décor, colonial ambience and gorgeous Suites.

Rooms in both wings are spacious, with soft, elegant décor, all mod cons and large bathrooms with freestanding bathtubs. For the real colonial ambience, choose a Suite in the original wing.

What’s so Special?

We love the spacious Suites in the original Majestic Wing with their black and white tiled bathrooms, gorgeous baths, homely elegance and modern comforts.

We love the original wing, which is a stylish facsimile of 1930’s glamour. Whirling ceiling fans, waiters dressed in white jackets and ties, mosaic tiled floors, lush potted plants and afternoon tea to the soundtrack of swinging 1930’s jazz. Get ready to be transported to a different era.

Service is very attentive and professional, with a high staff to guest ratio.

Bear in Mind

There are two swimming pools at the Majestic. The Majestic Wing Pool is situated close to the busy road in front of the hotel, so it does suffer a bit from road noise.

The Tower Wing houses the majority of the Hotel's plush guestrooms and suites.

The bathrooms are delightfully decadent modern glass enclosed sanctuaries with twin vanities, a separate rain shower and large free standing bathtub facing a wall-mounted television for that long bubble bath soak at the end of the day.

Deluxe Room

With an inspiring view of Kuala Lumpur's city skyline, the comfortably elegant Deluxe Rooms are perfect for business or pleasure, complete with luxurious furnishings.

Junior Suite

Junior Suites are palatial; with a large living and bedroom area complete with work desk, dining table, large flat screen TV, king-size four-poster bed with luxury linen and several large pillows, a small sofa and all mod cons to complement warm, subtle colours and elegant decor. The feeling is classical elegance enhanced with modern facilities.

Bathrooms are marble floored, glass-encased open affairs with a gorgeous freestanding bath in the centre (with a mini LCD TV conveniently placed on the wall).

Powerful rainforest showers are in a separate glass unit and twin vanities, large mirrors and great lighting are nice features. The bathroom can be curtained off with an interior curtain if required.

Junior Suites look out onto the city or the swimming pool.

Grand Suite

The immaculately designed Grand Suites look out over the gardens. Luxuriously furnished, these one-bedroom suites with a separate living area offer you the privacy of your personal space while discussions or get-togethers take place in the living room.

Premier Suite

With a stunning view of Kuala Lumpur's modern city skyline and heritage sites, the expansive Premier Suites come with a separate large living room with dining area, guest powder room and spacious bedroom with a four-poster bed.

Features in all Rooms:

  • Air Con
  • Flat Screen TV with Satellite channels
  • Minibar
  • Safe

The Bar

The Bar is a central focus in the Majestic Wing with dark panels, mirrors and brass, and where you can enjoy a Stengah, Gin Pahit or Sling just like the planters of old.

The gold-leafed domed ceiling is an original feature of the historic hotel.

Colonial Café

The Colonial Café offers authentic classical cuisine from the colonial era. Plush red leather chairs, crisply starched white tablecloths and timber paneling reinforce the colonial feel.

Located in the Majestic Wing, it seats 120 both indoors as well as in outdoor covered courtyards.

Tea Lounge

The elegant Tea Lounge in the Majestic Wing is open to the breezes off the lawn fronting the hotel. Cosy arrays of comfortable armchairs with subdued lighting from table lamps provide the perfect setting for English Afternoon Tea with a Malaysian twist.

Opus One

Located in the Tower Wing, Opus One is a luxuriously designed contemporary restaurant featuring an open kitchen interactive dining concept with a seating capacity for 250 people.

The cuisine, freshly prepared to order, ranges from Asian, Japanese, to Western and Grilled dishes.

Majestic Spa

Distinctively appointed in the art deco style of Scottish architect and designer Charles Rennie Macintosh’s Willow Tearooms, The Majestic Spa offers something different.

Turn of the century England was not only a period of social grace and tradition, but also of progress and change. The Willow Tearooms of Scotland became iconic gathering places for businessmen to meet, read the paper or discuss politics, and an elegant environment for proper ladies to lunch, play cards and socialise.

Serving as home to many British expatriates, British Malaya also embodied the feeling of this transitional time. Although longing for the comforts of their home, these “strangers in a strange land” adapted to all things new and exotic, finding the experience both fascinating and daunting.

True to the spirit of this time, The Majestic Spa reflects upon a golden era in Malaysian history. Spa Experiences offered include the intriguingly named Queen Victoria’s Lavender and English Afternoon Tea.
