Beyond the main beach resorts in Langkawi and Penang, there is much of Malaysia that remains relatively undiscovered.
The East coast of Malaysia is a barely developed stretch of coastline, punctuated by sleepy fishing villages.
The Perhentian Islands, although not exactly undiscovered are less easily accessed than the west coast islands, but offer fantastic beaches and great diving and snorkelling.
Pangkor Island on the west coast and Tioman Island on the east also offer more low-key, less well-known destinations.
