3 Nagas style

In the heart of Luang Prabang, MGallery Les 3 Nagas is a converted Lao Villa, transformed into an intimate 15-room boutique hotel with an infusion of contemporary style to mix with the historic ambience.

The main street location on what is sometimes known as Luang Prabang’s Walking Street means that the local restaurants and amenities are right at hand and is perfect for those who want to be in the centre of town.

Numerous cafes, restaurants, galleries and small craft shops line the street, the Night Market is just two blocks away and the National Museum just a short stroll away.

Several side streets also lead down to little riverside wine bars and restaurants.

The 3 Nagas gets its name from the 3 restored fin de siècle mansions, which stand close to one another on Luang Prabang’s main thoroughfare. Hence the 3 Nagas, which constitute guardian spirits (Nagas).

The hotel has a spacious well-kept tropical garden, complete with various fruit trees, running right down to the river.

What’s so Special?

Seamlessly blending old and new, MGallery Les 3 Nagas is a simple but characterful place to stay, with plenty of local touches in the rooms and building, including wooden floors, traditional ‘Torchis’ walls and clay tiles roofs.

The hotel has a terrace at the front where it’s possible to watch daily life in Luang Prabang flow by, including the morning monks’ alms giving procession.

The two restaurants are very popular institutions in Luang Prabang, so it’s very handy to have these literally on the doorstep.

Upgrade your transfer and opt to arrive in style in a 1957 cream-coloured Mercedes or a 1953 deep crimson Citroen.

Bear in mind

Laotians are early risers, and being on the main street, there is some noise from a fairly early hour. Light sleepers and late risers may be affected (which is the time to get up and go see the monks on their daily alms rounds).

Upper floor Deluxe Rooms are said to be quieter. As this is an old mansion, the floorboards do creak.

There are 4 twin-bedded Deluxe Rooms on the ground floor, 4 double Deluxe Rooms, 5 Junior Suites and 2 Executive Suites.

Deluxe Rooms

The 8 Deluxe Rooms are set on the ground and first floors of the main hotel building and are about 35 sq. m. in size and include a stylish bathroom, sofa and a private veranda or terrace.

The decoration is inspired by Lao traditions, using exotic dark woods (mostly rosewood), silks and traditional weavings in the form of wall hangings on whitewashed walls.

Four-poster beds come with mosquito nets.

The rooms on the garden side are popular because they face the river and are further away from the restaurant.

Executive Suites

Spacious Executive Suites are on the first floor of the second mansion and feature a balcony with and huge day beds. Rich exotic wood furnishings and silk fabric lend a warm and homely feel to these very spacious suites.

Two of the Executive Suites offer views of the street from very spacious balconies.

Features:

  • Air Con and ceiling fans
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • IDD phone
  • Minibar
  • Hairdryer
  • Working area with desk
  • Mosquito nets

Les 3 Nagas has two excellent restaurants, one specialising in Laotian fine dining; the other more casual but just as popular.

Les 3 Nagas Restaurant

Located adjacent to the accommodation building, Les 3 Nagas Restaurant is a very popular and extremely well regarded dining venue in Luang Prabang, specialising in Laotian fine dining. A meal here is a must if staying in Luang Prabang as it is certainly one of the best places to eat in Laos.

3 Mango

3 Mango is a little more casual, and is open all day serving Asian and Western cuisine on a terrace overlooking the garden.

They serve an excellent breakfast too.

Les 3 Nagas is a small hotel in Luang Prabang and has relatively limited facilities beyond the restaurants.

Bicycles are available for hire however and the hotel also has two vintage mercedes available for transfers.

The gardens at Les 3 Nagas are a really great feature.

Facilities:

  • Les 3 Nagas has a boutique, which is supporting local craft people.
  • Vintage Mercedes transfers are available.
  • Laundry
  • Bicycles
