Reception

Green Park Boutique Hotel and Spa is a great little 34-room low-rise boutique hotel in Vientiane, just a short tuk tuk ride from Vientiane city centre and the Mekong River.

Spacious, modern rooms are located in two-storey wooden buildings and feature antique furniture and balconies overlooking a rather swish swimming pool surrounded by comfortable loungers.

The green-tiled swimming pool is surrounded by frangipani trees, which add to the tropical fragrance and atmosphere, alongside water features and fountains.

In the evening the pool and garden areas are illuminated by softly glowing lanterns, quite a gorgeous sight.

The gardens, dotted with palms and fountains create a relaxing ambience, a tranquil retreat after a days sightseeing in Laos’ capital city.

What’s so Special?

One of just a couple of really great boutique hotels in Vientiane, Green Park Hotel is a very gracious boutique hotel with a lovely swimming pool.

Green Park is a standout in Vientiane, a city short on boutique hotels. Green Park’s ambience is peaceful and tranquil and the style and décor reflects a sense of place quite absent in most of Vientiane’s more business orientated hotels.

From the high-ceilinged lobby with its low-slung furniture, to the fragrant gardens and Lao style rooms, Green Park pays more than a nod to Laos’ cultural heritage.

The restaurant serves great Lao inspired meals and has a terrific location overlooking the marshlands of a nearby lake frequented by local fishermen and abundant birdlife.

Bear in mind

The location means that it’s a tuk tuk ride into the centre of town, but in Vientiane taxis and tuk tuks are cheap and plentiful. The hotel also runs a shuttle into the centre of Vientiane (about 10 minutes) and also offers free bike rental.

Classic Rooms

The 6 Classic Rooms overlook the swimming pool and feature a private balcony furnished with cushioned seating, a nice spot from which to view comings and going in the garden and pool.

Teak furniture and polished wood furniture add a touch of class to the rooms, which receive ample light through the floor to ceiling glass doors, which open onto the balcony.

Lao artefacts and artworks add colour and texture to the rooms and a separate living area offers space for relaxation.

Bathrooms are spacious with quite luxurious bathtubs.

Deluxe Rooms

There are 22 Deluxe Rooms, located on two floors, similar in style to the Classic Rooms.

The Lower floor rooms offer tropical garden views. The bathrooms in the Deluxe Rooms are a bit of an upgrade from the Classic Rooms.

Deluxe Suites

Two spacious Deluxe Suites (78 sq. m.) are furnished with elegant Lao artefacts and materials.

The Suites feature a separate living room with dining area, a large double balcony with sitting area and a private garden bathroom, which is much larger than the Classic and Deluxe Room bathrooms.

Executive Suites

There are four, two-bedroom Executive Suites (110 sq. m.) with a large living room, dining area and counter bar and two garden bathrooms with Jacuzzis.

These are ideal for families since the second bedroom is also en-suite.

Features in all rooms:

  • Air con
  • Private balcony or terrace with sitting area
  • Cable / satellite TV
  • IDD Phone
  • Free Wi-Fi in all rooms and in most of the hotel
  • Hairdryer
  • Safe
  • Coffee & Tea Making Facilities
  • Minibar
  • Fridge

Sala Nong Chanh Restaurant

Located in a separate pavilion, Sala Nong Chanh serves daily American breakfast, and Lao, Thai and Western Food Cuisine in an indoor/outdoor setting on the 2nd storey above the lobby bar overlooking a nearby marshy lake (Nong Chan), where fishermen cast their nets in the evening.

The atmosphere is peaceful and quite romantic.

Dok DaLa Bar & Lounge

The Dok DaLa Lounge is where breakfast is served and serves drinks and some snacks throughout the day.
