Elephant Experience

The Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort enjoys a spectacular location in the far north east of Thailand on a ridge-top overlooking the confluence of the Mekong and Ruak Rivers and 160 acres of landscaped tropical gardens and bamboo forest.

The refreshing chill of a Northern Thai sunrise shrouded in mountain mist, the rush of a longboat ride up the Mekong to Laos, the exhilaration of riding an elephant through bamboo jungle, a stay at the Anantara Golden Triangle is an unforgettable experience.

Accommodation at the Anantara is in luxurious, spacious rooms and suites in two low-rise buildings offering sweeping views over the misty mountains of the Golden Triangle.

A large infinity swimming pool gives the Anantara a resort-like feel and Anantara’s terraced gardens create a stunning environment, both by day and by night.

The Anantara is a great place to unwind for a few days with plenty of opportunities to be active but just as much temptation to laze around, enjoy the resort-like facilities and absorb the feeling of the location.

What's so Special?

Anantara Golden Triangle’s award-winning Elephant Camp is one of the best reasons for staying here and a fantastic chance to get up close to elephants and even train as a Mahout.

The Anantara Golden Triangle's location is spectacular in a region tinged with mystique and not so very long ago off limits to travellers. How things have changed.

Suites are luxurious and we love the oversized bathtubs and large terraces, which offer sublime views.

A memorable way to arrive at the resort is by long tail boat and elephant back – a romantic arrival, perhaps best organised as a surprise gift. Ask us for details.

Bear in mind

The location, service and facilities come at a price but bear in mind that rates are inclusive of all meals and activities.

Deluxe Three Country View Rooms

Three Country View Suites

There are just 19 spacious, elegant and serene Suites (64 sq. m), twice as large as the Deluxe Rooms, with a separate living area and a hanging terrace balcony with canopied daybed, sofa chairs and views of the mountains, gardens and pool.

Spacious terracotta bathrooms open up onto bedrooms via fluted glass doors. Large oval-shaped terrazzo bathtubs, twin vanities and separate walk-in showers are nice features of the bathrooms.

In the bedroom, beautiful Thai artworks, teakwood carvings, hardwood floors, and plush linens are hallmarks. Outside on the large covered terrace, wooden ceiling fans gently whir above built-in canopied daybeds.

A true highlight of Anantara Golden Triangle Elephant Camp & Resort is the renowned onsite Elephant Camp, which offers unforgettable adventures and unique experiences with a cast of gentle giants.
