Type of Bali Honeymoon

A Bali honeymoon is a great option for those looking for a romantic honeymoon destination offering privacy, ambience and great value for money.

Choosing the location for your Bali honeymoon can be key, as the different areas of Bali offer strikingly different experiences. Some areas of Bali are much more developed and other areas, much quieter.

Many couples choosing a Bali honeymoon combine more than one destination.

A two-centre honeymoon to Bali often involves a few nights in the cultural centre of Bali, Ubud; a romantic destination in the hills of central Bali, amongst rice paddies and scenic river valleys.

Combining Bali with neighbouring Lombok or the Gili Isles or with a cultural or more active trip to nearby Java is also a popular option when choosing a honeymoon to Bali.

All of our Bali Honeymoons can be tailor made to suit your interests and budget - so just let us know your preferences.

Pool Villas

There's not much better for a Bali honeymoon than the privacy of your own private pool villa.

Bali has plenty of choices - from ultra luxury pool villas in Ulu Watu and Seminyak, to more modest and great value private villas in Bali's beach destinations.

For many Bali honeymoon couples, a single centre villa-based Bali honeymoon is perfect.

Two-Centre Bali Honeymoons

Bali is a very cultural destination, and many couples combine two or more destinations on a Bali honeymoon.

Ubud is the cultural centre of Bali, an hour from the beach areas and a romantic destination amongst the river valleys and paddy fields.

A two-centre Bali honeymoon combining time by the beach with a few nights in Ubud is a very popular choice for Bali honeymooners.

Multi-Centre Bali Honeymoons

A honeymoon to Bali can also easily be combined with neighbouring destinations such as Lombok or Java.

A typical 2-week Bali honeymoon might include a week in Bali and a week split between neighbouring Lombok and the Gili Isles.

This is a popular honeymoon option for those who enjoy snorkelling or diving or who want to experience the contrasts between destinations.

Bright Lights, Big City!

There are no direct flights from the UK to Bali which means there is the opportunity to stopover in one of the gateway cities such as Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Bangkok or Hong Kong.

Adding a city stopover to a honeymoon to Bali can add something extra, especially for those with itchy feet.

There is usually no charge to break the journey and city stopovers can often be very inexpensive, allowing couples to extend the honeymoon at relatively little cost.

Most Luxurious

The Samaya Seminyak is ideal for a Bali honeymoon. Beachfront, romantic, private, extremely well-run and very popular.

Kayumanis have pool villas in Nusa Dua, Jimbaran and Ubud which are superb.

Combine a stay by the beach with a few nights in Ubud for possibly the best value luxury Bali honeymoon offer.

Best Value Pool Villas

Uma Sapna in Seminyak offers excellent value for those on a tighter budget.

We love Maca Villas and the Elysian in Seminyak, two of our most popular pool villas in Bali.

In Sanur, Bali Pavilions is an excellent Bali honeymoon option, especially with our exclusive honeymoon package.

A Spot of Culture

Definitely include a stay in Ubud if experiencing the best of Balinese culture is on the agenda.

The East of Bali is a good option also, perhaps with a stay at the Alila Manggis which offers great Balinese cooking classes and cultural activities.

Most Chilled out

Spa Village Tembok is the ultimate in tranquility and offers fantastic value. All meals and a daily spa treatment in a blissfully peaceful location.

Most Ubud hotels have a very relaxing vibe, but we especially love COMO Uma Ubud and the Chedi Club at Tanah Gajah.

Munduk Moding is a boutique resort on a working coffee plantation in Northern Bali, ideal for a few days away from it all.

Nightlife and Restaurants

Seminyak is the place to be, with Bali's best nightlife and a great choice of fine dining as well as boutique shops andf great value spas.

The Anantara Seminyak is perfectly located to offer a Bali honeymoon with easy access to nightlife, restaurants & beach.

Choosing the location for your Bali honeymoon can be key, as the different areas of Bali offer strikingly different experiences.

Some areas of Bali are much more developed and other areas, much quieter, so whether you're looking for total seclusion or pumping nightlife, choosing the right area is key.

Use our quick summary to help you decide on a location for your honeymoon to Bali.

More information and hotel selections for each are can be found by navigating by the menu on the left hand side of this page.

Seminyak

Popular with Bali Honeymooners. Lots of restaurants, spas, shop and a wide range of more luxury accommodation. Wild surf beach.

Canggu

The more peaceful rural area to the north of Seminyak is Canggu. It still has a peaceful vibe despite the encroachment of development from neighbouring Seminyak.

Sanur

A village-like atmosphere with low-key hotels, plenty of restaurants, shops and spas. Fewer luxury & boutique hotels than Seminyak.

Ubud

Many Bali honeymoons include 3 or 4 nights in Ubud for the culture, scenery and ambience. Combine with a beach resort.

Nusa Dua

A couple of great boutique resorts in a quiet area. Lacking somewhat in local atmosphere but ideal for a pool villa hideaway.

Jimbaran

Long sweeping stretch of sand and calm ocean. Great sunsets, seafood restaurants, handy to the airport.

Northern Bali

Much less developed area, mostly black sand beaches. Best for diving, dolphin watching & some great boutique resorts.

Eastern Bali

Quiet and little developed area of Bali. Cultural attractions and majestic Mount Agung. Diving options.

Western Bali

Mostly black sand beaches and few resorts. Usually a couple of nights' stay as part of a round Bali tour.

Beyond Bali

Lombok has great beaches and a laid back atmosphere. The Gili Isles are great for snorkelling & Diving and Java has culture, scenery and heritage.

We're seeing increasing interest in Komodo Island as an add on to a Bali holiday or honeymoon.
