Kep

Kep was once the top Cambodian beach resort destination and is now a quiet but developing region of Cambodia close to the Vietnamese border.

Whereas Sihanoukville has long stretches of golden sand, Kep is a little more rugged, with shorter stretches of beach interspersed with mangroves and rocky coastal stretches.

Kep is famous throughout Cambodia for its seafood and the crab market is an ever popular spot - both for tasting the delicious fresh crab and for people watching.

Knai Bang Chatt is a great boutique resort to spend a few days unwinding.

Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay)

The sea here is shallow and has a long slope, making Koh Tonsay excellent for walking and swimming.

Koh Tonsay is an idylic little island with some of the best beaches in Cambodia.

Highlights of Kep

Visit the bustling Crab Market in Kep in the morning, enjoy a short (8 km) trek in Kep National Park, chat with the the monks and have a short meditation practice at Samut Rangsey Pagoda and visit beautiful  Rabbit Island.

In the morning visit Kep's famous Crab Market. These days tourism is on its way back but Kep remains a very popular destination for those wanting the best seafood as it is famous for its seafood.

From the market, head to Kep National Park for a jungle trek of about 8km which will lead you around the mountain with beautiful outlook points over Kampot, the islands and as far as Vietnam.

Also visit Samut Ranksey Pagoda for a brief chat with a monk followed by a short meditation experience before heading to Rabbit Island.

In the afternoon, board the local boat from Kep Pier to tiny Rabbit Island which lies about 30 minutes off-shore.

The island offers one of the most beautiful beaches in Cambodia, with white palm-fringed sand.

There is a walking track which circumnavigates the island passing through small fishing villages. Spend the rest of your afternoon at leisure exploring and relaxing on the island’s beautiful beach before returning back to the hotel.
