Samode Safari Lodge
Samode Safari Lodge is one of the best wildlife lodges in India and offers a great base for a stay in Bandhavgarh National Park.
Inspired by the African safari concept and by the vibrant colours and designs of the region, Samode Safari Lodge consists of a number of private villas strung around a central building.
The main lounge is the heart of the lodge. Built on the first floor of the main building, it is tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished.
With a wooden floor, two large wood burning fireplaces and great views, the lounge opens onto a large wooden open-air deck which overlooks the property.
Below the main lounge, on the ground floor of the main lodge building, is the pool room which also houses a well-stocked library.
Samode Safari Lodge’s facilities include an open-air swimming pool, a spa, gym and jogging trails.
Bear in Mind
Bandhavgarh National Park has a good network of jeepable tracks. The morning drive starts at dawn and usually lasts for about 4 hours. The evening drive is shorter - about 3 hours.
Designed for maximum viewing pleasure and comfort, safaris are carried out in open-sided 4x4 off-road vehicles (seating 4-6), driven by professionally trained guides with a local tracker on board. Each vehicle seats 4 or 6 people.
Exclusive drives and full day drives can also be arranged. All vehicles have to be out of the park boundaries before dark. The park is closed on Wednesday evenings.
