Ranthambore National Park is a former hunting ground turned National Park and is one of the best places in India to see tigers and one of the premier wildlife destinations in Rajasthan.
The forest around the fort at Ranthambore was a hunting ground for the Maharajahs of Jaipur, and after India’s independence, Ranthambore National Park was carved out as a sanctuary for a diverse array of wildlife, the most enigmatic of which is the Royal Bengal Tiger.
Tiger viewing is not by any means guaranteed at Ranthambore but chances are high, with morning and afternoon game drives in the park.
