Amorita is the labour of love of Nikki and Ria who have nurtured Amorita from humble beginnings to become one of the most charming boutique beach resorts in the Philippines.

Amorita (which means ‘my little darling’!) is an intimate resort on Panglao Island Bohol with an exclusive picture-perfect view of the Bohol Sea sunsets, Siquijor Island, and the famed Alona Beach.

Amorita offers a place to relax and recharge, but also a base from which to explore some of the delights of this region of the Philippines.

There are plenty of restaurants nearby along Alona beach and activities include dolphin watching, diving and countryside tours.

Reached by air with regular flights from Manila, Amorita is ideal for a romantic Philippines holiday or honeymoon.

What’s so Special?

Being a couple-owned resort, Amorita has the personality of its owners well and truly stamped across it. Exiles from Manila, Nikki and Ria have immersed themselves in the local culture over the years and they endeavour to share some of their own experiences and observations in the excursions offered by the resort.

The sunsets from the Infinity Pool and the Cliff Deck are great and Alona beach is a really lovely stretch of white sand Philippine beach.

Take a pre-breakfast dolphin-watching excursion (we’re talking 5-6 am here!) – and be back at Amorita for breakfast.

Bear in mind

Amorita has a great location on a raised area at one end of beautiful Alona Beach. The elevated location means that Alona isn’t strictly right on the beach – it is necessary to walk down through gardens to the beach – just a short stroll.

Amorita Resort offers Deluxe Rooms, Garden View Villas and Ocean View Villas.

Deluxe Rooms

Deluxe Rooms are fairly plainly decorated with toned-down, neutral colours and white tiled floors and two Queen-size beds. Rattan furniture adds a tropical element.

Garden Villas

The villas are also furnished in neutral colours with minimal clutter and have a lovely King-size carved wooden-framed bed and an additional daybed.

Coloured paddles mounted on the walls provide the only decorational distraction.

Walls and hedges enclose the Villas, which have with private walkway entrances.

Ocean View Villas

Ocean View Villas have plunge-pools on covered private decks by a lawn area, which looks over towards the beach. Sun loungers are included.

Bathrooms are also furnished simply, with white tiled flooring and large mirrors. Villas have semi-outdoor Rainforest showers.

Features in all rooms:

  • Air Con
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Flat-screen LCD Cable TV
  • iPod dock
  • Minibar
  • Tea & Coffee making facilities
  • Safe
  • Rainforest shower

The Deck offers fine wines and candlelit dinners to the backdrop of Alona Beach sunsets.

Saffron Restaurant and Bar

Adjacent to Amorita’s signature infinity pool is the resort’s Saffron Restaurant, named after the glorious colour of the sunsets, best viewed while lounging in the restaurant.

A casual and relaxed ambiance pervades, with antique wooden tables, armoires, hand-carved driftwood furniture and sea-inspired accent lighting throughout the restaurant provide a homey yet elegant feel.

Definitely try the Boholano dinner menu for a taste of local cuisine.

A small library of special-interest magazines and reading materials with soft relaxing music in the background makes for a more enjoyable extended meal time.

At the centre of Saffron Restaurant is the Saffron Bar.

Sit by the bar and exchange stories with the Bar staff about Bohol’s heritage, tourist sites, dive experiences, or just get to know the warmth of the local people while you enjoy your drink.

Dining can also be arranged throughout the resort in various venues including the Cliffside garden and viewing deck with views over Alona Beach.
