About 25 minutes by road from the centre of Singapore, Sentosa Island (meaning “tranquillity” in Malay) offers a quieter alternative and plenty of family attractions such as Underwater World, the Musical Fountain, the iconic Merlion statue and a white sand beach.
Sentosa can also be reached by Cable-car from Mount Faber and the brand new monorail links the island with Singapore’s Harbourfront, making Sentosa Island even more accessible.
There are also two golf courses and the lovely Sentosa Resort & Spa.
As an alternative to a beach stay on Sentosa Island we recommend Bintan Island which has great stretches of beach, just 45 minutes by high-speed catamaran from Singapore's Changi terminal (right next to the airport).
