Sentosa Island
About 25 minutes by road from the centre of Singapore, Sentosa Island (meaning “tranquillity” in Malay) offers a quieter alternative and plenty of family attractions such as Underwater World, the Musical Fountain, the iconic Merlion statue and a white sand beach.
Sentosa can also be reached by Cable-car from Mount Faber and the brand new monorail links the island with Singapore’s Harbourfront, making Sentosa Island even more accessible.
There are also two golf courses and the lovely Sentosa Resort & Spa.

Arrive via cable car, having enjoyed stunning panoramic views over the city-state and the Singapore Straits.
Sentosa means ‘peace and tranquility’ in Malay, which is fitting as it has become the favourite retreat of Singaporeans who flock here to the beaches, golf courses, luxury resorts, theme park and the historic military fortress.
After the high of the cable ride, enjoy a ‘voyage to the bottom of the sea’ at Underwater World. Stroll through an 80-metre transparent tunnel surrounded by more than 2,500 sea creatures. Visit the Dolphin Lagoon and watch the adorable and friendly pink dolphins perform.
Embark on a wonderful journey into the very soul of the nation at Images of Singapore, where the country’s fascinating heritage and rich cultures are explained through life-size figures, animatronics and special effects.
Learn all about the Chinese, Malay and Tamil who helped build these 64 islands into one of the world’s most prosperous states. Prepare yourself for the multi-sensory spectacle that is ‘Songs of the Sea’, where you will be treated to a world-class aquatic show of water jets, lasers, bursts of fire and foot-tapping music set in the sea as the sun sets to the west. Return to the city by 9 pm.
