Xandari Resort & Spa offers quintessential Costa Rica, just 20 minutes from the airport in San Jose, set on a ridge overlooking Costa Rica’s majestic Central Valley in the foothills of Poas Volcano.

Tacacori, where Xandari is located, is a rural village in the foothills of Poas Volcano, one of the most scenic coffee growing regions in Costa Rica.

Xandari is located in a forest reserve, with five waterfalls and miles of trails, which are great for bird-watching.

The resort is set amongst landscaped gardens, with an orchid house, a farm, 2 lap pools and an on-site spa.

The main building houses a restaurant, a bar, a local arts and crafts shop and a TV/DVD room.

Each of Xandari’s 24 spacious and contemporary tropical villas is uniquely designed and set amongst lush foliage, offering spectacular views over the Central Valley from a private terrace.

What’s so Special?

This is a great option for a first or last night (or longer) in Costa Rica because of the proximity to the airport, especially if the arrival time might mean busy traffic into San Jose.

Members of the local community historically worked in local coffee production.

When Xandari was founded two decades ago a new opportunity allowed a few dozen community members to transition from working in agriculture to hospitality.

They were trained in all the skill sets required to operate a world-class resort and the effect on the local community has been a positive one.
