Villa Song

Villa Song Saigon is a luxury riverside boutique hotel with 23 unique, beautifully appointed rooms and suites, located in Saigon's District 2, within easy reach of the city centre by car or river.

The hotel is in a colonial style villa set right on the riverfront, with a riverside restaurant, swimming pool and in-house spa treatments.

The location is unusual - in Thao Dien which has a more village-like atmosphere but still within 15 minutes taxi ride of all the main sights in District 1.

No two rooms are the same at Villa Song but each is elegantly furnished in period style.

Bistro Song Vie is the all day dining restaurant located by the Saigon River and serving Vietnamese and Asian favourites.

What's so Special?

We love the location in Saigon's Thao Dien district, right by the river. It's especially nice for dinner and breakfast by the riverside, away from the hustle and bustle of District 1.

Bear in Mind

There are plenty of places to go out to eat in Thau Dien within a couple of minutes taxi ride away but nowhere really within walking distance.

Writer's Room

This is a single room - there is just one in the hotel, but it's ideal for those travelling alone who don't need much space.

Villa Rooms

There are 5 Villa Rooms at Villa Song.

They vary in size, design and layout - each is unique. They range from 26 to 41 sq. m in size.

Sanctuary Rooms

Sanctuary Rooms range from 32 to 48 sq. m.

There are 7 of these rooms at Villa Song. Some have balconies or Garden Views.

Sanctuary River View Rooms

Rich wood furnishings, minimalist hues and river views are features of these rooms.

What kind of holidays do you do?

All of our holidays are private tailor made holidays, whether its a simple city and beach holiday or a longer tour of Vietnam or Indochina.

Each trip is customised for you - we can amend things to entirely suit you; your budget, your pace, your interests.

You will have your own private car, driver and guide on excursions and we normally include airport transfers by private car.

On excursions you'll have an experienced English speaking guide who will be able to give you personal insights into your destination.

What are the departure dates?

Let us know your preferred dates of travel and we will find the best and most suitable flights to fit your itinerary.

We will also advise you of the best times to travel if required.

Which Airlines do you use?

We work with all the major airlines flying to this part of the world.

Typically for Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways or Cathay Pacific would be airlines we most often use.

However, just let us know your preferred airline if you have one. We can organise flights from any regional destination in the UK.

Vietnam Airlines fly directly to both Hanoi and Saigon from Heathrow.

Which Hotels do you use?

We're careful with our choice of hotels, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have some preferred hotels, just let us know.

We specialise in boutique hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller hotels where we think these will be suitable.

We try to choose hotels with character, value and something special about them - which fit your budget.

We keep on top of hotel developments in Indochina from our office in Vietnam and regularly inspect the hotels we use.

Do you cater for Solo Travellers and families?

Yes, we have many solo travellers, and Vietnam is a very safe, friendly and welcoming destinations for those travelling alone.

River cruises on the Mekong are a popular option for solo travellers, especially with Pandaw Cruises who offer no Single Supplements on many departures.

Vietnam has plenty to offer families, whether it's exploring the Cu Chi Tunnels, cycling around Mekong Delta villages, enjoying a Water Puppet Show in Hanoi or sampling exotic Vietnamese food.

What about Honeymoons and Anniversaries?

Vietnam is great for honeymooners - especially those looking for a more active honeymoon or to combine some touring with relaxation.

There are plenty of options to add a bit of romance to your travel in Vietnam.

Cruise on a boutique Junk through beautiful Halong Bay, indulge in a private pool villa with all spa treatments included, enjoy drinks at a rooftop bar in Saigon and take a private overnight Sampan cruise through the Mekong Delta.

How long have you been organising holidays to Indochina?

We've been organising tailor made holidays to Vietnam for over 10 years.

Our team has a wealth of combined experience in the industry and our Director has been involved in organising holidays to Vietnam since the early 1990's.

Our partners on the ground in Indochina have over 20 years experience in operating there.

They understand the region extremely well and have a strong infrastructure of staff, guides and vehicles.

We've had the same partnership in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos for over 10 years.

How does your office in Vietnam help?

We have our own staff in Saigon which helps in many ways with our customers in Vietnam and South East Asia.

It helps us to keep on top of any new hotel and travel developments in the region and forge stronger relationships with hotels and other partners.

We regularly do our own inspections of hotels and destinations in the region.

Should our clients need any assistance during a trip, we always have at least one of our own staff on the same time zone, and we're open 7 days a week in Saigon.

Bistro Song Vie

With an indoor and outdoor riverside setting, Bistro Song Vie is a great place for all meals.

Breakfast by the river or a romantic dinner as the Saigon River flows gently by - any time of day is good for eating here.

The menu is a mix of Western and Vietnamese. Prices are relatively high in comparison to local restaurants in District 2 but the location is great.

If you want to go out to eat from Villa Song there's nowhere within walking distance - unless you like a good walk.

However the Thao Dien district of Saigon has plenty of night places to eat.

We recommend the Deck, Mad House or the Boathouse, all of which are just 5 minutes away by taxi and offer great menus.

The Deck is the more upmarket of the three.

Touring Vietnam

A stay at Villa Song can be incorporated into one of our tailor made tours of Vietnam or Indochina.

We have a selection of suggested Vietnam tours which include Saigon.

A stay in Saigon is essential to get a true feel for Vietnam since it's Vietnam's most dynamic, vibrant and most populated city.

A stay of 2 nights is the minumum you should consider for Saigon as there is plenty to see and do and there are a couple of great side trips to consider - namely the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Mekong Delta.

Saigon is often included at the start or the end of a tour of Vietnam or Indochina since many flights arrive and depart from here.

It's also possible to travel overland (or by water) between here and Cambodia.
