Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is a secluded and luxurious three-hotel resort village and spa on dramatic Al Jissah Bay just 15 minutes drive from Muscat.
With the turquoise water of the Sea of Oman on one side and the dramatic Hajar Mountains rising on the other, the setting is spectacular.
The palatial Shangri-La Al Husn (meaning ‘The Castle’) is the most exclusive of the three Shangri-La Hotels that make up the resort and has its own private 100-metre long beach.
The 180 rooms and suites of Shangri-La Al Husn offer Shangri-La's highest level of service and are amongst the largest and most luxurious in Oman, with an inviting décor inspired by royal Arabian palaces and accented by authentic Omani artworks.
A free minibar, daily afternoon tea and pre-dinner cocktails and canapés service are nice additions for a stay at Al Husn.
Children below 16 are not permitted to use the private beach or Al Husn pool, so the area is effectively childfree. Families are well catered for at the Shangri-La Al Waha.

There is no shortage of dining options at the Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah.
Al Husn has two of Oman’s finest restaurants: Sultanah, a stylish restaurant with a luxury cruise theme, and Shahrazad, the only authentic Moroccan restaurant in Muscat, which serves traditional Moroccan cuisine in a contemporary and refined setting.
At the Al Waha, Samba offers culinary theatre and Latin flavours, whilst Surf Café offer snacks and light meals.
Al Bandar is home to Capri Court, an Italian restaurant. Tapas & Sablah meanwhile offers an outdoor dining experience complete with live entertainment. Al Tanoor features an evocative Arabian atmosphere with open kitchens.
