Rio Perdido (meaning ‘lost river’) is set in a 600-acres wilderness of rare dwarf forest and rocky canyon lands close to the imposing Miravalles Volcano.

Rio Perdido is an eco-lodge, which combines respect for nature with modern convenience.

The 20 bungalows are all raised above the ground and offer homely, clean and modern interiors, with private terraces complete with hammocks. 

Twin bed set ups convert into King-size Beds and natural lighting in the rooms is great. 

The hotel offers a spa and is very focused on health and wellness, which includes plenty of healthy dining options in addition to therapeutic spa treatments.

There is plenty to do in the surroundings including a trail system, which offers walks from a few minutes to full-day treks to more remote areas such as Las Tumbas Panoramic Lookout.

On-site adventures include The Canyon Adventure (zip-lines, tarzan swing, challenge bridge), White Water Tubing and the world-class Rio Perdido Bike Park.
