Day 1: Fly UK to Seville
Fly to Seville with British Airways (or with your preferred airline).
On arrival in Seville you will be met and transferred to board your CroisiEurope River cruise.
Enjoy dinner on board.
Day 2: Seville - Cordoba
Today, transfer by coach from Seville to Cordoba. Cordoba's golden era started in the 8th century when it was conquered by the Moors who built about 300 mosques and countless palaces.
In the 13th century, under the reign of Fernando III the Saint, the Great Mosque of Cordoba was transformed into a cathedral and new defensive structures were built, namely the Alcazar de los Reyes Cristianos and the Calahorra Tower.
After lunch in a restaurant, enjoy a free afternoon in the city before heading back on board in Seville.
Day 3: Seville
This morning, leave by coach for Seville. Start off the visit with the azulejos that adorn the Plaza de España before moving on to the Santa Cruz district.
Sheltered behind the former perimeter wall, what used to be the Jewish district belongs to the historic heart of the city and is surrounded by the most famous buildings of the Andalusian capital.
Afterwards, discover the Alcazar, one of the oldest Royal Palaces in Europe. This structure was built over the ruins of an Almohad mosque as a symbol of the capital's prosperous status of great commercial town after the Reconquista. Tonight, depart on foot to enjoy a Flamenco evening.
Flamenco (cante flamenco) is an art created by the Gypsy and Andalusian peoples based on popular folklore born from the various cultures which flourished throughout the centuries in Spain. Immerse yourself in the most famous Spanish tradition!
Day 4: Jerez & Cadiz
This morning, depart from El Puerto de Santa Maria for Jerez.
During this panoramic tour by coach, you will get to admire the cathedral which was built in the 17th century over the ruins of the old Jerez mosque and the former Salvador Church, as well as the Alcazar which still displays a large amount of features from its early construction.
Your tour will continue with a visit to a "ganadería", a property where valiant bulls are raised and trained for corridas.
In the afternoon, join us a panoramic tour of Cádiz. You'll be able to bathe in the cultural and historic riches of the city, as well as its long stretches of unspoiled beaches.
The old centre brings together the most characteristic areas of the city, including beautiful baroque churches and elegant mansions, many of which are adorned with façades painted in glorious pastel colours and decked out with ironwork balconies.
Visit the cathedral, a magnificent Baroque and Neoclassic building.
Enjoy an evening of entertainment.
Day 5: Alcoutim (Portugal)
Today cruise along the Guadiana towards Alcoutim. Enjoy time at leisure to discover Alcoutim before returning on board and departing towards Vila Real de San Antonio.
This afternoon, leave by coach from Vila Real de Santo António for Faro.
Begin the visit with the cathedral (exteriors only). Originally built as a church in the 13th and 14th centuries, Saint Mary became a cathedral in the 16th century.
A few elements still remain from the original church including the bell tower and 2 chapels at the crossing of the transept.
After a tour on foot of the old town, head to Tavira. White walls, Moorish-style doors and roofs are characteristic of this city. This lovely coastal town is crossed by the river Gilão and boasts several beautiful bridges, including "Ponte Romana" with its seven Roman arches. We'll return on board in Vila Real de Santo António.
Enjoy an evening of Fado entertainment on board. Start cruising in the evening towards El Puerto de Santa Maria. The ship will cruise through the night.
Day 6: El Puerto de Santa Maria - Isla Minima - Seville
