Day 1: Fly UK to Mfuwe
Fly from Heathrow to Lusaka via Dubai with Emirates (or with your preferred airline).
Day 2: South Luangwa National Park
On arrival at Lusaka International Airport you will be met by our representative and assisted with immigration and customs procedures and assisted with your check-in for your flight to Mfuwe.
Fly to Mfuwe with Proflight Zambia.
On arrival you will be met and transferred to your safari lodge in the South Luangwa National Park.
Upon arrival in camp, take it easy and relax after your long trip, a sundowner in camp is a great start to your 5 nights bush experience.
Day 3: South Luangwa National Park
Today wake up early to the sweet smell of the unpolluted African bush and after breakfast venture out into the Park in an open 4x4 safari vehicle for your first taste of what lies ahead.
Most of your game-viewing from Kafunta will be by vehicle and you will enjoy both day and night drives.
The afternoon game drive continues after sunset to have the unique opportunity to observe those animals which are active only at night, and to have a chance to see the larger predators such as leopards, lions and hyenas on the move and possibly hunting.
Day 4: South Luangwa National Park
After breakfast, transfer to Kafunta’s remote Island Bush Camp where you will stay for 2 nights.
The drive to Island Bush Camp will take you through woodlands and riverine landcapes, while passing through a couple of authentic villages.
At the camp, the views stretch from the Chindeni hills in the Eastern corners of the Luangwa Valley, to the Muchinga escarpment in the West, presenting the complete natural boundary of this remote and achingly beautiful wilderness.
There are fewer roads in this area of the Park and most of the activities from this bush-camp will be on foot.
Day 5: South Luangwa National Park
Walking safaris are the main activity in this pristine place, a chance to explore the bush on a different level.
Under the guidance of the camps professional guides and escorted by an armed park scout, you’ll embark on a slow-paced wander looking for different wildlife species and taking the time to hear about nature’s wonders too often overlooked on game drives.
Exploring the bush on foot, being on the ground in the vicinity of wild animals is exhilarating and a highlight of most people's Zambian safari.
Day 6: South Luangwa National Park
You will return for a last night at Kafunta before your flight out of Mfuwe.
You have morning and afternoon game activities included.
Day 7: Lower Zambezi National Park
After breakfast you'll transfer to the airstrip for your flight directly to Jeki Airstrip in the Lower Zambezi, which is about an hour and a half’s drive from your next camp, Anabezi.
The Lower Zambezi is home to a host of prestigious wildlife including lion, leopard, hyena as well as an abundance of other indigenous species.
The diverse land and water-based safari options here include mesmerizing game drives, tranquil river cruises, exciting fishing expeditions, canoe trips down the Zambezi’s quiet and secluded channels, wilderness walks accompanied by an experienced scout, and spectacular birding excursions.
Day 8: Lower Zambezi National Park
Choose your safari activities today.
Anabezi has four-person game drive vehicles, newly designed for safety and comfort. Morning drives may reveal the Zambezi’s diurnal inhabitants – buffalo, elephant, zebra and an array of antelope – as they traverse the mopane forest.
Game-viewing in this eastern end of the National Park is typically excellent and as with all Lower Zambezi camps your activity options will also include boat cruises and fishing.
We suggest an afternoon river safari.
Day 9: Lower Zambezi National Park

If you're feeling adventurous, we highly recommend a canoe trip down the Zambezi.
On this exceptional safari, experienced guides will reveal a fresh perspective on African wildlife. From hippo and crocodile to rare birdlife and aquatic creatures, the canoeing safari is an adventure to remember.
Day 10: Livingstone - Victoria Falls
This morning, transfer to the airstrip at Jeki for your flight to Livingstone via Lusaka.
On arrival in Livingstone you will be driven 45 minutes to Waterberry Lodge which is set on the bank of the Zambezi River some 25 kilometres up-stream from the Falls themselves.
The camp has a very homely feel and in-house activities are offered ranging from a trip to visit the Falls to birding walks, river trips, fishing, island picnics and more.
There are numerous additional activities to enjoy in the area around the falls but spending some time just lounging around the camp is also a great option - it's a wonderful place to relax and is one of our favourite lodges in the Victoria Falls area.
Day 11: Livingstone - Victoria Falls
Choose your activities at Waterberry.
We highly recommend including a village walk during your stay as it's a fascinating insight into village life in Zambia and the children are very friendly.
You'll normally hear a few local stories and see the school and church buildings.
Day 12: Livingstone - Victoria Falls
Choose your activities at Waterberry.
If you're a bird watcher, Waterberry has an expert guide who will take you birding through the bush and along the riverbank.
Keen birders often also choose to visit Mosi O Tunya Park and Livingstone Sewage Ponds – a treat for avid birders.
Day 13: Fly back to the UK
You will be collected from your lodge and transferred to Livingstone Airport for your onward flight.
Fly to Lusaka with Proflight Zambia.
Fly from Lusaka to Dubai with Emirates to connect with your flight back to the UK.
Day 14: Arrive UK
Arrive back in UK.
