Silver Chest is a boutique hotel in Kunming offering gorgeous rooms and amongst the best level of service in Kunming.

This boutique hotel is set in a historic courtyard building dating from 1923 and is quite an oasis in Kunming.

Rooms have been beautifully furnished with exquisite tiling, wooden floors and muted calming colours – the perfect mix of old and new.

The excellent central location is within easy strolling distance to numerous restaurants, the bird and flower markets and other attractions such as the lake.

Silver Chest is the labour of love of an ex London banker who returned to China to develop a boutique hotel.

The staff speak a good level of English, the beds are very comfortable (not often the case in China) and being woken up by birdsong in the morning is quite an experience in a Chinese city.
