Quinta Azul is located in Rio’s stunning Santa Teresa hills, offering romantic “boho-chic” style accommodation in a little oasis above downtown Rio.

Quinta Azul (meaning Blue House) is a refurbished 120-year-old colonial building, in a charming location, amongst tropical gardens and surrounded by lush green woodlands with great views of Rio.

Quinta Azul offer 15 beautifully designed rooms, all boast state-of-the-art fittings and antique furniture, including 400-thread cotton sheets and soft furnishings.

Rooms feature a lovely tropical Brazilian style and some of them have four-poster beds.

Santa Teresa is a quite bohemian area located on top of Santa Teresa hill, overlooking the centre Rio.

A great way to experience the ‘real Rio’ and a favourite haunt of artists, poets and musicians, Santa Teresa is famous for its winding, narrow, cobble-stoned streets with countless stunning vantage points – and a 100-year-old tram.

Bear in mind

Copacabana and Ipanema are just 20 minutes away by taxi. The Gloria metro station is 10 to 15 minutes walk downhill or less than 5 minutes by taxi. It’s 6 stops on the metro to Copacabana.

The international airport is 30 minutes away and the domestic airport just 10 minutes by taxi.

It’s a great place to be during carnival – just remember to book early.
