M/V Skorpios II sails from the Skorpios Terminal in Puerto Montt, a town located 621 miles south of Santiago, which can be reached by road or air.

This 5-day cruise covers 800 miles and departs every Saturday to return on Thursday between the months of September and May.

The cruise covers 800 miles for a magical encounter with the age-old ice formations of the Glaciar San Rafael, sailing through awesome archipelagos, channels and gulfs.

Explore this incredible territory and visite Castro and the fishing village of Puerto Aguirre.

Discover natural wonders and observe amazing wildlife at Fiordo Quitralco with its hot springs and excursions to its vast island-peppered sea.

MV Skorpios II was built in 1988 at the Skorpios shipyard, Chile according to SOLAS and IMO rules, and ABS (American Bureau of Shipping) classification, class N° 890.56.66, A1 ice.

Her cabins, toilets and dining-room were remodeled in 2012. It is 70 metres long, has a 10 metre beam and a 2.87 metre draft, displacing 1,520 tons.

She has an international loadline certifícate, and registration N° 2567 issued by the Directorate General of Maritime Territory of Chile.

She has a capacity of up to 106 passengers berthed in 53 double cabins and distributed in 5 decks; cabins offer twin, double or king-sized beds.

All cabins have private toilet facilities, plasma TV and background music. The ship has two comfortable lounges, and an ample dining room.

Day 1: Puerto Montt – MV Skorpios II

Upon arrival at Puerto Montt you will be transferred to the MV Skorpios II.

Departure from Puerto Montt at 12:00hrs. 

Sail through the Llanquihue archipelago. Contemplate the Calbuco city.

16:30hrs. Arrival at Quemchi, Chiloe lsland. Disembark on boats at this picturesque Chilote village. You can visit the handicraft market, streets and coffee shops

18:30hrs. Continue south through the Archipelago of Chiloé and Corcovado Gulf.

Day 2: MV Skorpios II

08:00 hrs. Navigate through the Moraleda and Ferronave channels.

11:00hrs. Arrival at the fishing village of Puerto Aguirre. Disembark at this fishing village enclosed at the Chonos archipelago.

13:00hrs. Continue sailing through the Ferronave, Pilcomayo and Costa channels. 

17:30hrs. Arrival at Punta Pescadores, disembark on the beach of little stones, walk 1.2 miles approximately to the south and enjoy the natural environment

20:00hrs. Continue south.

22:00hrs. Arrive at Caleta Quesahuen or Punta Leopardos, 20 nautical miles from the San Rafael Glacier.

Day 3: MV Skorpios II

07:30 hrs. Cross the San Rafael Lagoon entrance and Tempanos channel. 

09:00hrs. The ship enters the Lagoon and anchors 1.2 miles from the Glacier. Boat excursion among multi-coloured icebergs

15:30hrs. The ship gets closer to the Glacier. 

17:00hrs. Continue to the Quitralco Fjord.

Day 4: MV Skorpios II

08:00 hrs. Stop at the Quitralco pier. After breakfast, passengers relax at the hot springs.

Weather permitting you will enjoy an excursion in motor boats inside of the fjord.

17:00hrs. Sail towards Chiloé, navigating through the Moraleda and Perez Norte channels.

Day 5: MV Skorpios II

08:00 hrs. Sail through Leucayec channel, partial view of Melinka in the Chonos archipelago, which used to be a shelter for fearsome pirates.

Corcovado Gulf crossing. Weather permitting, you might watch humpback whales and blue whales or Alfaguaras.

Continue to east coast of the Chiloé lsland and visit lslote Conejos located at Queilén channel.

Disembark and contemplate the Magellanic penguins and numerous birds. 

13:00hrs. Sail between Lemuy and Chelín islands.

17:00hrs. Arrival at Dalcahue, disembark. You can visit the handicraft market, the Church, and walk along the promenade. 

23:00hrs. Sail towards Puerto Montt. Farewell party, Captain’s dinner and dance.

Day 6: MV Skorpios II – Puerto Montt

08:00 hrs. Arrival at the Skorpios Terminal in Puerto Montt. 

09:30 hrs. Breakfast and disembarkation.
