Peaceful, secluded and private, the Four Rivers Floating Lodge enjoys a superb off the beaten track setting in the Cardamom Mountains in the western Cambodian province of Koh Kong, close to the border with Thailand and about 4 hours by road from Phnom Penh and three hours from the Cambodian beach resort of Sihanoukville.

A stay at Four Rivers can be combined easily with an overland trip from Bangkok into Cambodia, as a side-trip from Siem Reap or Phnom Penh or as part of a longer tailor-made tour of Cambodia. The location is a about midway between Bangkok and Phnom Penh.

This region of Cambodia offers unspoilt virgin forest, rare orchids and fragrant frangipani, to the backdrop of the sights and sounds of the jungle.

Four Rivers Floating Lodge consists of just 12 luxury tents, set on wooden platforms over the Tatai River.

Activities at Four Rivers include visits to the Cardamom Mountains, kayaking excursions through the mangroves, village visits and a boat trip to nearby Tatai Waterfall.

What’s so Special?

The mist clearing over the water, the plop and splash of a feeding fish on the tranquil river, the startled cry of a far-off jungle bird – the day begins at Four Rivers Floating Lodge.

Arrival at the lodge is wonderful – the last part of the journey by boat.

Bear in mind

Four Rivers Floating Lodge is a bit off the beaten track, but the journey is delightful. Bear in mind there is no mobile phone coverage at the resort.

There are two transfers to and from Tatai daily organised by the resort. Outside the set transfers there is a small surcharge.

With their origins in the safari veldt of Africa's game parks, each of the twelve 45 square metre double and twin-bedded tented villas combines practicality with a touch of luxury.

Each rounded room features a rattan bed, chaise longue and coffee table and chairs.

Each tented villa is air-conditioned and fan-cooled and features an extra large sun-lounger and up-to-date features such as Wi-Fi and flat screen TV’s.

Large bathtubs are a nice feature, with rounded wooden bathtubs. When not out on excursion, most guests spend time relaxing on the sundeck or taking a refreshing dip in the river.

The sides of the tents can be rolled up for a refreshing breeze and views if required.

Features:

  • Air Con
  • Wi-Fi
  • Flat Screen TV
  • DVD
  • Minibar
  • Sun-lounger

Dining

Thankfully as there is nowhere else to eat, the food is excellent at Four Rivers with a choice of international, Cambodia and Fusion food. Set lunches and dinners change on a daily basis and are served in the small restaurant at the centre of the resort.

All meals are included at Four Rivers Floating Lodge.
