Alfajiri Villas

Alfajiri consists of three separate villas - Garden, Cliff and Ocean and is a great option for honeymooners looking for romance, luxury and privacy or for families looking for a private villa in Diani Beach.

The Cliff Villa is considered by many as one of the finest Villas on the Kenyan Coast. It has four bedrooms and 270-degree views from its highest point.

The Garden Villa features a large lushly landscaped veranda and private infinity-edge pool with unforgettable views of the Indian Ocean.

The Beach Villa has a high Makuti-roof, and is located just a few steps away from the beach, offering the ultimate in beachfront luxury.

Decor includes large glass windows, ivory Danish floors, wooden beams, Lamu doors and impressive African and Far Eastern Artefacts. Most of the furniture is made on the property and some is exported.

All meals are included at Alfajiri and are served al-fresco or in the privacy of your villa.

What's so Special?

Although it's an older hotel now (dating back to the 1990's), Alfajiri is still one of the most luxurious boutique hotels in Kenya or the whole of East Africa.

The house is owned and hosted by Fabrizio Molinaro and his wife Marika. After completing medical school in Italy, Fabrizio spent the last 3 decades in Kenya in the safari business and travelling the world.

Marika was in the fashion business for many years and she is now an interior designer for some of Kenya’s most luxurious houses.

The 25 staff speak very good English and are unobtrusive.

Alfajiri has been the winner of the Harpers and Queen award for the private villa providing the best service worldwide.

Cliff Villa

Considered by many as the finest Villa on the East Africa coast, the Cliff Villa overlooks the Indian Ocean and its elevated position ensures privacy and a stunning view.

The concept is as you please - Private dining is a la carte, served al fresco or in your villa - your choice, as too is the cuisine. All meals are included as well as all drinks including local and imported brands of alcohol.

Up to 8 guests can be accommodated in the 4 bedrooms, but bear in mind that as the size and interior decor in the rooms differs, the Cliff Villa is not really suitable for 4 couples, but is ideal for families.

The turret suite in the Cliff Villa has 270-degree views of the sea and is wonderfully romantic.

On the first floor are 2 double rooms with private verandas and a twin room on the ground floor.

The large veranda with hand-carved sofas dominates the front of the villa and a stretch swimming pool sits on the edge of a small cliff merging with the view of the sea and the horizon.

The in-villa dining experience is the ultimate in luxury. Enjoy your meals in the privacy of your own villa, served al fresco on your veranda with an amazing view of the Indian ocean.

Which Airlines do you use for your Kenya Holidays?

We work with all the major airlines flying to the Kenya.

Typically for Kenya we will use Kenya Airways or British Airways for direct flights.

There are currently daily flights from Heathrow to Nairobi, departing in the morning and arriving the same day late in the evening.

The Kenya Airways flights are also direct but offer an overnight option meaning you'll arrive in the morning in time to connect with a safari flight.

The flying time for direct flights is about 8.5 hours.

We also commonly use Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi. These all allow stopover options in the Arabian Gulf to create a multi-centre holiday.

Regional connections from across the UK are available.

What about Safari Flights in Kenya?

Safari flights in Kenya operate from Nairobi Wilson Airport.

We usually use Safari Airlink who are Kenya's premier safari flight operator, flying to most safari destinations as well as Zanzibar, using Dash 8 and Cessna Caravan aircraft.

The Cessna's are the workhorses of safari flights and have large windows and overhead wings, meaning better views on your flight.

Luggage should be kept to a minimum on safari flights.

For safari flights in Kenya, the limit is typically 15 kg per person. This should be in soft bags as opposed to hard suit cases in order to fit in the baggage compartment on small aircraft.

Do I need a visa for Kenya?

If you're travelling on British Passports, a visa is required for stays of up to a month.

These can be obtained on arrival but to avoid queuing at the airport on arrival it's better to organise these in advance.

Please always check visa requirements as they can change at any time.

When is the best time to visit Kenya?

January to March is usually hot and dry and great for wildlife viewing. Conditions can often be dry and dusty at this time of year and animals often congregate near water-holes, meaning excellent wildlife viewing.

April to May can be wet and muddy and this is the period of the 'long rains'. Many safari camps close during May when the long rains are at their height, as the tracks and roads get muddy and it may not be possible for the camp vehicles to take visitors on game drives.

June is usually green and lush after the rain. Many animals have their young at this time of year, to coincide with the better grazing from new grass following the rains.

July to August is cooler and good for the migration in the Masai Mara. July to September is when the great wildebeest migration moves into the Masai Mara. July to September is a busy time for safaris in Kenya.

September to October offers good weather and wildlife viewing in Kenya.

November and December sees the advent of the so-called 'short rains'.

Bear in mind that weather patterns vary and when rainfall in Kenya occurs, it often happens at night or early in the morning.

Ensure you bring some additional warm clothing for chilly early morning or evening game drives in Kenya.

Although Kenya is on the equator, you may be surprised at how cold it can get at night and in the early morning, especially in the higher locations!
