October marks a transition month between monsoon systems as much of Thailand comes under the influence of the Northwest dry monsoon which brings drier more settled conditions across most of the country.
October is still low season for most hotels on the West coast of Thailand, including Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak and Koh Lanta. Prices are still low until the end of October and the second half of October can be one of the best times to visit Thailand as many beach resorts still have free night offers until the end of the month.
On Koh Samui October can see increasing numbers of days with afternoon thunderstorms.
The climate in Bangkok and in the north of Thailand reflects that of the West coast.
