Mekong Cruise - Lost Civilisation

The glistening rice paddies, tangled fruit orchards and floating fish farms of the Mekong Delta all depend on this river’s bounty.

Cruise between Saigon and Phnom Penh in Cambodia and on up to the magnificent temples of Angkor and discover age-old ways of life supported by this majestic river.

This two-week Mekong River Cruise holiday includes pre and post accommodation and a 7-night cruise on the luxurious Jayavarman or Jahan, one of the finest boutique river cruisers in Asia.

You have all meals on board and all shore excursions included. In Saigon and Siem Reap you will be staying in luxury boutique hotels, with private excursions included.

The Jayavarman

The majestic Jayavarman is considered the father in Heritage Line’s “family” of cruise ships. This vessel was named after Angkor’s most venerated king, who ruled from 1181 to 1218, and was a devout Buddhist.

The Jayavarman’s design was influenced by the French cruise liner Normandie, which launched in 1935. Traveling between Saigon and Phnom Penh, the Jayavarman marries the art deco charm of 1930’s France with the romance of Indochine.

There are just 27 cabins on the Jayavarman.

Thanks to its intricate woodcarvings, Khmer bas-reliefs and Vietnamese lacquer paintings, this impressive cruise ship resembles a floating art gallery.

With three-and-a-half decks the Jayavarman is as spacious as it is beautiful. Guests can admire Khmer artifacts in the Henry Mouhot Lounge, mingle in the Club 1930 Bar, dine in the elegant Indochine Dining Hall, and recharge with spa treatments in the Apsara Spa.

A Jacuzzi is located on the top sundeck, which offers spectacular views of the passing delta.

Henry Mouhot Lounge

Named after the French archeologist who discovered the Angkor temple complex, the Henry Mouhot lounge is the perfect place to curl up with a book.

The Lounge has a decidedly scholarly air about it – the furniture is made out of teak, the colours are soothing and the artefacts carefully chosen to bring back memories of the past. The Lounge has free Wi-Fi.

Club 1930’s Funnel Club & Lounge

Be transported back to 30’s and 40’s in the Club 1930 Bar and Funnel Lounge - a spacious, airy and luxurious venue with comfortable sofas and chairs.

Indochine Dining Hall

It is difficult not to be wowed by the Indochine Dining Hall. Breakfast is lit by the early morning rays of the sun which stream onto the white table covers.

Romance fills the dinner atmosphere with soft lighting and relaxing music.

Is this a Private Vietnam Tour or a Group Tour?

All of our Vietnam tours are private tailor made itineraries, customised for you - we can amend things to entirely suit you.

You will have your own private car, driver and guide on excursions.

What are the departure dates?

Let us know your preferred dates of travel and we will find the best and most suitable flights to fit your itinerary.

As this is a private tour of Vietnam, there are no set departure dates.

Which Airlines do you use?

We work with all the major airlines flying to Vietnam.

Typically for Vietnam, Vietnam Airlines, Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines or Qatar Airways would be airlines we most often use.

However, just let us know your preferred airline if you have one. We can organise flights from any regional destination in the UK.

Vietnam Airlines fly directly to Vietnam from the UK and have a modern fleet of aircraft including 787 Dreamliners and Airbus A350's.

Which Hotels in Vietnam do you use?

We're careful with our choice of hotels, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have some preferred hotels, just let us know.

We specialise in boutique hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller hotels where we think these will be suitable.

We keep on top of hotel developments in Vietnam from our office in Vietnam and regularly inspect the hotels we use.

Why should we book with you and not directly?

Because we are one of Heritage Line's best supporters from the UK, we have the very best rates to pass on to you, which should make it cheaper than booking directly.

All of our holidays are priced in Pound Sterling which means you are not exposed to currency fluctuations and poor exchange rates if you are paying for your cruise in US Dollars.

Your holiday also enjoys full financial protection through ATOL and the Travel Trust Association by booking with us.

How long have you been organising holidays to Vietnam?

We've been organising tailor made holidays to Vietnam for 15 years.

Our team has a wealth of combined experience in the industry and our Director has been involved in organising holidays to Vietnam since the early 1990's.

Our partners on the ground in Indochina have over 20 years experience in operating there.

They understand the region extremely well and have a strong infrastructure of staff, guides and vehicles.

How does your office in Vietnam help?

We have our own office in Saigon which helps in many ways with our customers in Vietnam and South East Asia.

It helps us to keep on top of any new hotel and travel developments in the region and forge stronger relationships with hotels and other partners.

We regularly do our own inspections of hotels and destinations in the region.

Should our clients need any assistance during a trip, we always have at least one of our own staff on the same time zone, and we're open 7 days a week in Saigon.
