Day 1: Fly to Amman

Fly from the UK to Amman where you will be met and transferred to your chosen hotel by the Dead Sea with the rest of the day at leisure.

Overnight Dead Sea. Breakfast included.

Day 2: Dead Sea - Mount Nebo - Madaba - Petra

Spend the morning at leisure in your resort by the Dead Sea.

From the Dead Sea proceed to visit Madaba, known as the City of Mosaics. Here you will see the oldest map of the Holy Land on the floor of Saint George’s Church

After Madaba, a short drive will bring you to Mt. Nebo, the supposed burial site of Moses overlooking the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea.

From this mountain top Moses supposedly had his first glimpse of the Holy Land, a land he was never allowed to enter. Here Franciscans built a structure that protects 4th and 6th Century Byzantine churches.

Stop for a while for lunch at Haret Jdoudna, a very elegant restaurant in the centre of downtown Madaba with a beautiful courtyard garden where you can sit under big umbrellas.

The restaurant (probably the best traditional restaurant in Jordan) is nestled in a small shopping area so you can even do a little handicrafts shopping while you wait for your food.

After lunch proceed to Petra for check-in at your hotel with the balance of the day at leisure.

Overnight Petra. Breakfast & Lunch included.

Day 3: Petra

After breakfast, depart on a full day tour of Petra. Once the ancient Nabatean capital, this city gently reveals itself as you walk through its hand-carved facades.

Starting at the visitors centre, you will be assigned a horse, guided by a local Bedouin who will lead you to the once hidden entrance to the lost city.

After passing some tombs which are located outside the city, the visitor passes through the siq, an immense crack in the Nubian sandstone.

It is a winding, one-kilometer-long fissure between overhanging cliffs that seem to meet more than 300 feet overhead.

Near the end of the passage, the siq, with great style, makes one last turn and out of the gloom in towering brightness appears Petra’s most impressive monument, el Khazneh - The Treasury.

This is one of the most elegant remains of antiquity, carved out of the solid rock from the side of the mountain and is nearly 140 feet high and 90 feet wide.

Beyond el Khazneh the visitor is surrounded on both sides by hundreds of Petra’s carved and built structures, soaring temples, elaborate royal tombs, a carved Roman theater, large and small houses, burial chambers and much more.

The Victorian traveller and poet, Dean Burgon, gave Petra a description which holds to this day - “Match me such a marvel save in Eastern clime, a rose-red city half as old as time.”

Return to your hotel in Petra for overnight.

Overnight Petra. Breakfast included.

Day 4: Petra - Wadi Rum

Return to Petra for an unguided morning visit if you wish. Revisit the siq, treasury or perhaps head directly to the High Place of Sacrifice.

You will then transfer to the magical desert of Wadi Rum, with its associations with Lawrence of Arabia.

On arrival, take a jeep tour managed and driven by one of the local Bedouin to many of the sites in the moon-like landscaped desert. Start from the visitor centre and drive to Rum village about a 10-minute drive on paved roads.

After this head into the ochre coloured sandy desert as you visit the sites of Rum. Visit Lawrence’s spring and continue to Khazali Canyon an iconic feature in Wadi Rum.

Khazali Canyon is an easy 20-minute walk that allows you to see many Nabatean inscriptions and drawings. Following a visit to Rum’s majestic sand dunes, head directly to the Discovery Bedu Eco-friendly Luxury Camp with its unsurpassed sunset viewing opportunity.

Uniquely tailored to perfectly blend with the natural surroundings, the camp offers an authentic experience in the heart of this truly spectacular place.

Located at a particularly scenic viewpoint in Wadi Rum, the bespoke camp is run by local Bedouins and is the flagship luxury camp in Jordan. There are six tented suites all with en-suite bathrooms and supplied with hot and cold running water and electricity all solar powered.

On arrival, guests are escorted to the central tent which serves as a lobby and a dinner venue.

Enjoy an evening around the camp fire in the Star Lounge on one of the luxury sofas enjoying the desert night sky.

Overnight Wadi Rum. Breakfast included.

Day 5: Aqaba

Wake up in the serenity of the desert and enjoy breakfast on the rocks with undisturbed views of Wadi Rum stretching for hundreds of miles.

After breakfast transfer to the coastal city of Aqaba, Jordan’s gateway to the Red Sea, famous for its warm water and rich marine life.

Aqaba’s vibrant fringe reef and crystal clear waters make it the perfect spot for snorkelling and for those who prefer to experience the coral from the comfort of a glass bottomed boat.

Being Jordan’s only port city, Aqaba also has a thriving souk and an abundance of local and tourist restaurants.

Overnight Aqaba. Breakfast included.

Day 6: Aqaba

Today enjoy an optional cruise trip with snorkelling if you wish or enjoy the day free in Aqaba.

Overnight Aqaba. Breakfast included.

Day 7: Aqaba - UK

Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK or to your next destination.
