One of Singapore’s few true boutique hotels, the Scarlet is an 84 room totally unique hotel in Chinatown, occupying a converted 1924 Art Deco building.
Vivacious, uninhibited, daring – the Scarlet is certainly not for those looking for bland and unoriginal! The hotel cuts a fine line between pretentious and stylish but we think it’s a goodie!
The location on Club Street means that boutique shops, trendy restaurants, wine bars and art galleries are all close at hand.
Rooms range from cosy and simpler Standard Rooms (15 - 20 sq. m) to lush, swanky and spacious suites.
The Scarlet has a terrific Italian Restaurant and a popular rooftop restaurant. A gym and Jacuzzi are on offer.
What's so Special?
Singapore has struggled to come up with quality boutique hotels but the Scarlet is a pretty good effort.
Bear in mind
Standard and Deluxe Rooms are quite small and we recommend one of the Executive Rooms for those looking for more space.

They say the best things come in small packages so leave all cares behind in the well designed space of any one of the 8 Standard Rooms (15 - 20 sq. m).
All treated thematically in refreshing shades of cool pastels to help you relax, while you remain wired to the world.
Deluxe Rooms
Make yourself comfortable in the soothing yet lush spaces of any of the 28 Deluxe Rooms. A fresher, more summery ambience is created with clean, inviting tones of soft yellow and green, or dusty blue and white.
Executive Rooms
Business travellers can rest easy. Each of the 25 Executive rooms is fully wired and designed with all the trappings of comfort and convenience for the road warrior.
There are 17 Executive rooms (15-20 sq. m) and 8 Executive Rooms with Balcony.
Premium Rooms
Offering generous spaces in hues of olive, rust and taupe tones, all 14 rooms (26 - 30 sq. m) provide the sensuality of luxury accentuated by dark mahogany furniture details and divine drapes.
Casa Tartufo
Casa Tartufo offers Northern Italian specialities against a warm, sophisticated Italian decor.
Aria Roof Bar
This rooftop al-fresco seafood bar & grill is perched atop The Scarlet and offers a cosy atmosphere and nice views over Chinatown at night.
