About Milaidhoo

Milaidhoo is a luxury boutique resort in the Maldives’ Baa Atoll, a UNESCO biosphere reserve, close to Hanifaru Bay, 126 km north west of Male.

It’s the perfect destination for nature lovers as the own coral reef, which encircles the island, is a protected area and noted as an outstanding snorkelling and diving site in its own right.

Milaidhoo is a tiny beautiful island, lush with tropical greenery, and fringed by soft deep white sand beaches.

Large villas all come with private pools and are amongst the very best in the Maldives.

What’s so Special?

Everything at Milaidhoo has been custom made and made for comfort, with the informal barefoot ethos in mind.

The resort offers a taste of the true Maldives, opening doors to Maldivian culture and unique experiences.

Bear in Mind

Milaidhoo is designed for couples seeking peace and privacy. As such, children under 9 years old are not accepted.

There is a strict ‘no drone’ policy on the island in case you were considering taking a drone camera.

It's a 30-minute scenic Sea Plane flight to get to Milaidhoo.

Beach Pool Villas

Set directly on the white, powder soft, sand beach amongst lush tropical palm trees and greenery, these huge (290 sq. m) thatched-roof villas all have ocean views and open-up 180-degrees to the huge sundeck.

Inside the villa is a King-size bed with views of the beach and ocean; a discreet flat-screen TV; high ceilings; private wine fridge; full size fridge/mini bar; coffee machine; ceiling fan and air conditioning and custom-made furnishings.

The contemporary interior design includes many local touches giving a sense of being truly in the Maldives.

The sundeck has a 36 square metre private freshwater infinity pool; Maldivian-style swing chair; sun loungers; umbrella; table with chairs and an oversized daybed by the pool.

The luxurious air-conditioned bathroom offers an indoor rain shower; a separate deep bathtub as well as an outdoor open-air garden-shower.

Luxury-size toiletries are by Acqua Di Parma.

Features:

  • Air Con
  • Ceiling fan
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Flat screen TV
  • Hairdryer
  • Safe
  • Full size fridge / Minibar
  • Coffee machine

Ba'Theli

Welcome aboard the only restaurant in the world set on a boat in a lagoon featuring gourmet dishes of inspired island cuisine from the Maldivian Spice Route.

At Ba'theli, the chefs create dishes of finesse based on the epicurean delights of the old Spice Routes using only the finest ingredients, blending herbs and spices to enhance natural flavours.

You can dine on the ‘deck’ of the restaurant where, underneath starry night skies, the team of chefs deliver an island influenced menu of locally inspired and sourced dishes.

There’s also indoor seating in air-conditioned comfort where you can watch the sea-life below through glass floors. Expect to find seafood and traditional local flavours intelligently reinterpreted for the 21st century.

Ocean Restaurant

Here’s the tropical breakfast you’ve always dreamed of: sitting on the deck by the ocean.

For lunch and dinner the style remains casually comfortable with international dishes perfectly presented from an a la carte menu. Here, the key words are fresh, flavourful and friendly.

The Shoreline Grill

This beachfront grill is where you’ll find superb meats and freshly caught local fish and seafood, simply cooked and beautifully presented.

You can dine barefoot on the sand in a private beachfront pavilion, or inside the grill for a fantastic view of the show kitchens.

Enjoy an evening at the chef's "teppanyaki" table where the chef will ask what you feel like eating and cook accordingly.

Or why not arrange a pre-dinner wine tasting session in the wine room with the sommelier one evening? This is where you’ll find barefoot informality at its best. Easy, simple, no fuss.

Which Airlines do you use?

We work with all the major airlines flying to the Maldives.

Typically for the Maldives we will use British Airways for direct flights to the Maldives between November and March.

Sri Lankan Airlines is also a great option for flights to the Maldives, especially of course if combining the Maldives with a Sri Lanka tour.

The flying time for direct flights is around 10 hours, making the Maldives a little shorter flying time than going to South East Asia.

We also commonly use Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi. These all allow stopover options in the Arabian Gulf to create a multi-centre holiday.

Regional connections from across the UK are available.

Which Hotels do you use?

We're careful with our choice of resorts in the Maldives, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have some preferred hotels, just let us know.

We specialise in boutique & luxury hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller luxury hotels where we think these will be suitable.

We understand that choosing a resort in the Maldives can be a bit bewildering, especially as they all look so similar!

That's where our expertise can help - it's always useful to speak to someone who's been to lots of different islands in the Maldives.

Do I need a visa for the Maldives?

If you're travelling on British Passports, no visa is required for stays of up to a month.

Please double check before travel however as visa requirements are subject to change at any time.

How long have you been organising holidays to the Maldives?

We've been organising tailor made holidays to the Maldives since 2009.

We use a very reliable local partner in the Maldives for transfers and to assist our clients in the Maldives. They are a family owned company who are one of the most established and respected local travel companies.

We keep up to date with developments in the Maldives with regular visits and through our local contacts.

When is the best time to visit the Maldives?

The driest time of year to visit the Maldives is normally between November and March. This is high season in the Maldives and you can expect dry and settled conditions most of the time.

What board basis should I choose in the Maldives?

You'll find there is a wide range of options in the Maldives, from b&b, Half and Full Board, All Inclusive and variations on All Inclusive options.

Because of the isolated location, dining in the Maldives is expensive by almost any standard. Bear this in mind when comparing meal options.

How do I get to my resort in the Maldives?

Some resorts in the Maldives can be reached by speedboat from Male. This makes for a convenient and easy transfer. You'll be met at the airport on arrival and taken on foot the short distance to your boat transfer.

Seaplane transfers in the Maldives are used for islands further afield. These are usually in 18-seater De Havilland Twin Otters which fly in daylight hours only, departing from the seaplane port next to the International Airport.
