Hakone Ginyu
Tucked away in the lush mountains of Hakone, is the spa resort of Hakone Ginyu, home to Hakone Ginyu Ryokan, one of the best Ryokan in Japan.
'Ginyu' means a traveller seeking inspiration for poetry, and spectacular views of the Haya-Kawa River as well as the Hakone Mountains set the perfect backdrop for poetic inspiration.
The essence of Japanese style emanates through the corridors of Hakone Ginyu Ryokan and continues throughout the entire resort.
Each of the 4 different room types emboidies a stylish, traditional feel with modern facilities to match.
All rooms have a lounge-dining area, a futon, a large bed and a shower which leads out on to the private balcony with open-air hot-spring bath.
Hakone Ginyu also has 3 public Onsens which means there is no shortage of bathing options at the Ryokan.

Bear in Mind?
Hakone Ginyu is popular and with only 20 rooms, the Ryokan can get booked a long way in advance.
The Ryokan is only 10 minutes on foot from Myanoshita Station. Around the station are a few restaurants and museums but nothing in the immediate vicinity of the hotel.
There are 4 room types at Hakone Ginyu.
Tsuki Rooms
The homely Tsuki rooms are set on the first floor and include a balcony and lovely garden.
Sora Rooms
Light and airy Sora rooms are set on the second floor and feature traditional Japanese décor and are the most Japanese style of the four room types.
Hoshi Rooms
On the third, Hoshi rooms have more than touch of Bali about them, creating a very relaxing living space.
Kaze Rooms
Kaze rooms on the fourth floor offer the best views in the Ryokan, right over the valley - truly spectacular.
