Oberoi Mauritius

An idyllic couples resort, the Oberoi Mauritius is situated on Turtle Bay, just 15 km away from the capital city Port Louis and very near the lively town of Grand Baie.

The Oberoi Mauritius is a member of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World and is one of the finest boutique resorts in Mauritius.

As with many Oberoi Resorts, the setting of the Oberoi Mauritius is lush and peaceful, facing over half a kilometre of ocean front.

With just 72 rooms, the Oberoi Mauritius is the epitomy of the intimate and luxurious tropical island escape.

Rooms consist of a selection of luxurious pavilions and villas, some with private pools.

The Oberoi has plenty of facilities including swimming pools, a spa, fitness centre, yoga and tennis courts.

With exotic flowers, candles flickering on the surface of the pool, the strange evening song of the frogs and the spectacular sunsets, dining at the Oberoi is a magical experience.

What’s so Special?

The service at Oberoi Resorts is always polished and very personal.

If great food, a few activities, the odd spa treatment and stylish accommodation is your thing then the Oberoi Mauritius will probably fit the bill.

Bear in Mind

The location is very quiet and peaceful so the Oberoi isn’t for those looking for nightlife.

The beach is not the finest sand in the world and is mixed with a few small stones and coral.

How long have you been organising holidays to Mauritius?

We've been organising tailor made holidays to Mauritius since 2009.

We use a very reliable local partner in Mauritius for our tours and transfers and to assist our clients in Mauritius. They are a family owned company who are one of the most established and respected local travel companies.

We keep up to date with developments in Mauritius with regular visits and through our local contacts.

Which Airlines do you use?

We work with all the major airlines flying to Mauritius.

Typically for Mauritius we will use British Airways for direct flights.

There are currently five-times-weekly flights from Gatwick in the winter and three flights a week in summer.

There are also four-times-weekly flights from Heathrow direct to Mauritius with Air Mauritius.

The flying time for direct flights is around 12 hours.

We also commonly use Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi. These all allow stopover options in the Arabian Gulf to create a multi-centre holiday.

South African Airways are another airline we frequently use for combining a safari and beach holiday to South Africa and Mauritius.

Regional connections from across the UK are available.

Which Hotels do you use?

We're careful with our choice of resorts in Mauritius, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have some preferred hotels, just let us know.

We specialise in boutique & luxury hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller luxury hotels in Mauritius where we think these will be suitable.

When is the best time to visit Mauritius?

The driest time of year to visit Mauritius is normally between June and September. May to October is the dry season.

April to May and October to November can be the best value times of year to visit Mauritius as these are shoulder-season periods.

See our climate guide for more detailed weather information.

There are some local climatic conditions to consider when choosing the location for your Mauritius holiday and we will be able to advise you accordingly.

Do I need a visa for Mauritius?

If you're travelling on British Passports, no visa is required for Mauritius for stays of up to a month.

Please double check before travel however as visa requirements are subject to change at any time.

Do you offer twin or multi-centre Mauritius Holidays?

Yes - all of our Mauritius holidays are tailor made and we can put together all kinds of twin-centre Mauritius holiday combinations for you.

Amongst the most popular options for twin-centre Mauritius holidays are Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Singapore, each of which offers an exciting city to combine with your beach holiday in Mauritius.

For a wonderful safari and beach holiday we frequently combine Kenya and Mauritius or South Africa and Mauritius.

To enjoy two or more islands on an Indian Ocean holiday, it's possible to combine a Seychelles and Mauritius holiday as there are direct flights between the two countries.

For something combining touring and beach, a tour of India combined with a Mauritius beach holiday is an exciting and rarely considered option.
