Coco Palm Bodu Hithi

Just 40 minutes by speedboat from Male, Coco Palm Bodu Hithi is a stunning luxury Maldives resort with 100 villas, including very luxurious over water villas.

There are 4 spacious and luxurious villa types to choose from, each with a timeless charm, mixing Maldivian style such as high-pitched roofs with modern touches.

Coco Palm Bodu Hithi attracts a range of guests, including couples, honeymooners and families.

The Island Villas are right on the beach and offer complete privacy with a pool set in a walled garden at the back of the villa.

Facilities include a luxury spa, gym, watersports and some great excursions.

What’s so Special?

The snorkelling is excellent and there is a great reef just off the beach with healthy coral, lots of fish, Olive Ridley Turtles. Rays and harmless sand sharks are often sighted.

We love the Coco Residences and these Maldives over-water villas are ideal for those looking for space, privacy, luxury and a true Maldives experience.

Bear in Mind

The resort attracts a range of guests from honeymooners to families with well-behaved toddlers but the privacy, space and feel of the resort means that Bodu Hithi really does suit a range of guests.

Island Villas

Spacious Island Villas are artfully designed retreats that combine the best of traditional Maldivian design with the latest in personal luxury – all just steps from the water’s edge.

Open plan, yet intimate, each villa includes a private plunge pool in a walled garden at the back of the open plan living area. Beside the pool are sun loungers and a large day bed.

Island Villas feature a bathing area between the bed and living areas where you can submerge yourself in the large central tub.

Comfortable king-sized bed and a sunken living area with sofa, flat screen TV and personal bar complete the living areas.

In addition to the private walled garden, a beachfront terrace looks out towards the beach and turquoise water.

Additional amenities include a DVD player, music system, espresso machine and private safe.

Snorkelling

The Maldives is recognised as one of the best destinations in the world for diving and snorkelling and the North Male Atoll is renowned for its crystal clear water.

Snorkelling at Bodu Hithi is excellent, with a healthy coral reef just metres from the shore, teeming with all manor of colourful tropical fish.

Turtles are a regular sight on the reef as well as harmless sharks and rays, making for some of the best snorkelling in the Maldives.

Snorkelling equipment is provided free of charge from the Watersports Centre and snorkelling trips are also offered to further afield locations.

Diving

Dive Ocean at Coco Bodu Hithi is a PADI certified dive school, staffed by four multi-lingual instructors who are trained to the highest international standards.

Whether you are a complete beginner or have years of experience, begin your exploration of the lagoon with a guided orientation dive in the house reef before venturing further afield to try our selection of underwater adventures including full day excursions and night dives.

PADI certification is offered.

Watersports

Coco Bodu Hithi is the ideal destination for water sports lovers.

Explore the surrounding islands on a catamaran. Alternatively, speedboat, canoe, windsurf or water ski across the cobalt waters or spend a fun afternoon on our fun bed or donut ride. Lessons are also available.

Which Airlines do you use?

We work with all the major airlines flying to the Maldives.

Typically for the Maldives we will use British Airways for direct flights to the Maldives between November and March.

Sri Lankan Airlines is also a great option for flights to the Maldives, especially of course if combining the Maldives with a Sri Lanka tour.

The flying time for direct flights is around 10 hours, making the Maldives a little shorter flying time than going to South East Asia.

We also commonly use Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi. These all allow stopover options in the Arabian Gulf to create a multi-centre holiday.

Regional connections from across the UK are available.

Which Hotels do you use?

We're careful with our choice of resorts in the Maldives, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have some preferred hotels, just let us know.

We specialise in boutique & luxury hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller luxury hotels where we think these will be suitable.

We understand that choosing a resort in the Maldives can be a bit bewildering, especially as they all look so similar!

That's where our expertise can help - it's always useful to speak to someone who's been to lots of different islands in the Maldives.

Do I need a visa for the Maldives?

If you're travelling on British Passports, no visa is required for stays of up to a month.

Please double check before travel however as visa requirements are subject to change at any time.

How long have you been organising holidays to the Maldives?

We've been organising tailor made holidays to the Maldives since 2009.

We use a very reliable local partner in the Maldives for transfers and to assist our clients in the Maldives. They are a family owned company who are one of the most established and respected local travel companies.

We keep up to date with developments in the Maldives with regular visits and through our local contacts.

When is the best time to visit the Maldives?

The driest time of year to visit the Maldives is normally between November and March. This is high season in the Maldives and you can expect dry and settled conditions most of the time.

What board basis should I choose in the Maldives?

You'll find there is a wide range of options in the Maldives, from b&b, Half and Full Board, All Inclusive and variations on All Inclusive options.

Because of the isolated location, dining in the Maldives is expensive by almost any standard. Bear this in mind when comparing meal options.

How do I get to my resort in the Maldives?

Some resorts in the Maldives can be reached by speedboat from Male. This makes for a convenient and easy transfer. You'll be met at the airport on arrival and taken on foot the short distance to your boat transfer.

Seaplane transfers in the Maldives are used for islands further afield. These are usually in 18-seater De Havilland Twin Otters which fly in daylight hours only, departing from the seaplane port next to the International Airport.
