The beach (Pantai Tengah) is only 5 minutes walk away and there are several shops, cafes, bars and restaurants within easy reach.
Cottages consist of Studio Cottages, Classic Suites and Two-Bedroom Family Cottages, each with a private veranda offering views of the forest.
Ambong Ambong has a swimming pool, spa and yoga deck and offers yoga classes from a qualified yoga instructor.
Yoga, nature and Ayurvedic retreats are run every week throughout the year at Ambong Ambong, making this an excellent option for those looking for a health and wellness element to a Malaysia holiday.
Satellite TV and broadband internet connections give you the choice of being as connected to the outside world as and when you want to be, as well as the option of just switching off and escaping from the outside world for a while.
What’s so Special?
Ambong Ambong is an idyllic place to relax and let time drift by, to the accompanying sights and sounds of the rainforest. Bird lovers will feel right at home at Ambong Ambong, with Sea Eagles, hornbills, orioles, lapwings and kites common around the cottages.
There are over 400 species of butterfly in Langkawi and many species are endemic at Ambong Ambong, fluttering between the shrubs. At night, fireflies can be seen glowing in the forest as they put on a display of light flashes to attract their mates. Dusky Leaf monkeys and Long-tailed macaques frequent the treetops.
The views are great from the hillside location and the beach is only a short walk away.
The canopy of trees keeps the retreat relatively cool and pleasant during the day.
Bear in Mind
Ambong Ambong is not on the beach and does not have lots of facilities. It’s all about peace and escape here, getting back in touch with oneself and enjoying the natural surroundings.
The steps. Bear in mind the steps. It can be a bit of a steep walk back to your cottage, but if you consider it all a part of the general wellness theme, the steps are a bonus workout.
Studio Suites
There are six individual studios at Ambong Ambong.
Studio Rooms are 46 sq. m. with one King size or two Super-single beds.
Classic Suites
There are three Suites at Ambong Ambong.
Suites are a very spacious 84 sq. m. and feature wooden bathtubs on the balconies.
Two Bedroom Cottages
Cottages are built around existing trees and the steep terrain and as a result, all vary slightly in design and layout.
The design maintains the indoor temperature stable and reduces reliance on air-conditioning.
All cottages have balconies and each offers glimpses of the Andaman Sea and the craggy peaks of the Machincang Range.
There are two 2-bedroom cottages and six individual studios at Ambong Ambong.
Each Cottage has comfortable seating area both indoors and outdoors, on verandas with views of the forest and the Andaman Sea beyond. The verandas are a great spot on which to relax and unwind, taking in the refreshing forest air and peaceful surroundings.
There is one single storey Two-Bedroom Cottage with 106 sq. m of space, two bedrooms (one King bed and one twin with super-singles). The cottage has an en-suite bathroom and indoor and outdoor seating.
The triple story Two-Bedroom Cottage is larger (145 sq. m.) and includes and indoor sofa.

Dining
The award-winning Unkaizan Japanese Restaurant has been listed every year since 2005 in Malaysia's Best Restaurant Guide and is known for excellent food, superb service and friendly staff. There is a good choice of restaurants within a short distance from the hotel.
Enjoy the cool sea air and spectacular views of the sunset over the Andaman Sea from the outdoor terrace, one of three dining areas. Indoors, there is an air-conditioned main dining room and an air-conditioned Japanese-style dining room upstairs.
