La Java Bleue is a simple 3-room boutique hotel in the centre of Kampot in an old villa building restored into a comfortable b&b style hotel.

Restaurants and the riverside are a couple of blocks’ walk away.

The style is homely, simple and informal with simple rooms furnished with local photographs and artefacts.

There are just 3 rooms at La Java Bleue – Khmer, French and Chinese, each decorated with care.

Each room has a number of objects of traditional or more contemporary art: sculptures, paintings, ornaments and refined furnishings, from traditional to Art Déco.

What’s so Special?

Java Bleue is a cute little place with a cute name. Rooms are interestingly furnished, creating a homely base for a stay in Kampot.

Java Bleue is family run, and they welcome guests with open arms.

Sophal and his wife Keo frequent the kitchen dreaming up the mixture of French and Khmer cuisine, which they do so well.

French Atmosphere

Beige and white monochromes, art deco cushions and accessories, old Air France posters framed on the walls… hardwood furnishings and mottled decoration bring charm, softness and character to this room.

Very spacious, this room has an en-suite and a large living area, ideal for relaxing after excursions. There is a King-size bed and the sofa can be turned into a bed to make room for one extra person.

Khmer Atmosphere

The Khmer room has framed post cards from the early twentieth century, Khmer style furnishings, and exotic woodwork - décor both warm and refined.

Spacious and bright, this room offers you a lounge area ideal for relaxation.

This is an en-suite twin bedded room.

Chinese Atmosphere

Decorated in Chinese style, this room has furnishings in sculptured wood. Its white cauldron, bed-head in varnished wood, the sobriety of its walls, and its Chinese motifs evoke a captivating and exotic art de vivre.

Situated under the roof of the house, this room gives onto a small private terrace, offering a view of the town and the vegetation that surrounds the house.

This spacious double-bedded room has a private bathroom with toilet “à la française”.

Features in all rooms:

  • Air Con
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Safe

Dining

The communal room occupies the ground floor of the house.

In this lively area, designed to be open and friendly, you can have your meals, or enjoy a drink by listening an old song coming from the phonograph.

Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. The restaurant now has a French chef Jean-Claude but the menu also offers Khmer food.

Facilities

The communal room is thoroughly traditional, whilst also reflecting the inheritance of the French presence in the cement tiles on the floor.

The terrace extends out onto the pavement in front of the house. For intimacy, the upper level has a shady terrace for relaxing in a hammock, reading, or chatting with friends over a drink.
