This is an amazing 4-day adventure from Puerto Maldonado in the Peruvian Amazon.

Explore the rainforest around Puerto Maldonado and stay at the beautiful Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica.

Discover the exotic fauna and flora of the jungle, hike on dirt roads and navigate down the Madre de Dios River.

Admire the great biodiversity of the Tambopata National Reserve and observe the Amazonian forest from the tree tops through an amazing network of canopies.

Day 1: Jungle Trail & River Cruise 

Fly from Cusco or Lima to Puero Maldonado.

On arrival you will be met and transferred to the pier for an exhilarating 45-minute trip downstream through the jungle. 

Arrive at Inkaterra Reserva Amazónica where you will have lunch.

In the afternoon enjoy an exciting jungle hike, looking out for different rainforest life, large and small.

In the evening there is a short presentation about the importance of the Amazon ecosystem.

Before the sun goes down, take a boat trip down the Madre de Dios River to enjoy a beautiful Amazonian sunset. 

At night, many species can be seen in the area including caimans, nightjars, capybaras and owls.

Return back to the lodge for dinner.

Day 2: Rolin Island & Canopy Tour 

Wake early to watch the sunrise over the Madre de Dios River.

After enjoying a breakfast of eggs, local fruit and freshly baked bread, visit Rolin Island.

Located in the middle of the river, Rolin Island is also known as ‘Monkey Island’.

Learn about the monkey conservation program and return to the lodge for lunch.
