What's so Special?
Datai Spa treatments in the rainforest spa, to the sound of a trickling stream and the background “music” of the jungle are really special.
The Datai is a wonderful design, just as if it had been carved out of the jungle.
Bear in Mind
The setting of the Datai amongst the rainforest is not for everyone (monkeys are a common sight and it can get dark under the canopy of trees), but the atmosphere is quite unique.
The Datai's re-opening at the end of 2018 marked an 18-month long extensive renovation program.
The Canopy Collection
Resembling a majestic fortress semi-consumed by jungle, the main building in the Datai is constructed from black shale rocks.
Rooms here consist of Suites with balconies that offer views over the rainforest canopy all the way to the emerald green Andaman Sea.
With the treetops at eye-level, it’s a delight to spend an afternoon on your balcony watching Oriental pied hornbills, White-bellied sea eagles, Greater racket-tailed drongos and other unique canopy-dwelling species.
Staying in the main building at the Datai offers convenient access to the Lobby Lounge, business center, boutique, Dining Room, the main swimming pool and the gym.
Canopy Deluxe Rooms
Each of the 44 Deluxe Rooms is divided into two areas of 62 sq. m.
The combined bedroom and living room contains a king-size bed, private bar, a writing desk, a day bed and a balcony with panoramic views.
The spacious bathroom and dressing room features twin vanities, shower, toilet, bathtub and luggage space.
Canopy Premium Rooms
Similar to the Canopy Deluxe Rooms, each of the 10 Premium Rooms are 62.5 square metres in size and offer delightful views of the rainforest, swimming pool, or the Andaman Sea.
The Premium Rooms are popular for those wanting to engage with nature from their own balcony, be it the cute and playful Dusky Leaf monkey, the squirrels and colourful frogs.

End and Corner Suites
Each of the 9 End Suites boasts an airy balcony, spacious bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a separate living and dining area with an oversized daybed that can be utilized as a bed when traveling with a child.
The two Corner Suites are similar to the End Suites. Although slightly smaller, they boast an angled balcony with a 180 degree view

The Dining Room
The Dining Room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, featuring western specialties and local Malaysian delights.
The Pavilion
The Pavilion serves authentic Thai cuisine in a charming alfresco setting, in the canopy of the rainforest.
Open for dinner, the Pavilion is a really romantic location, with dining to the background of the sound of the rainforest.
The Beach Club
With unobstructed views of the ocean, The Beach Club provides a dream setting for dining by the sea.

Golf at the Datai
