Pangkor Laut Resort
Hill Villa Interior
Pangkor Laut is one of the best luxury resorts in Malaysia, located on its very own private island (Pangkor Laut means “Little Pangkor”). The setting is stunning, with a lush rainforest interior and the idyllic Emerald Bay which is one of the most picturesque beaches in Malaysia.
With a choice of villas, top-notch service and a wonderful four-acre spa, Pangkor Laut Resort is an ideal resort for those looking for a romantic beach resort or luxury honeymoon in Malaysia.
Pangkor Laut is a place to chill-out in relaxing, luxurious and romantic surroundings.
To get to Pangkor Laut Resort, most people transfer by car from Kuala Lumpur to Marina Island Pangkor (about 3.5 hours) from where there is a 15-minute boat ride to the resort.
What's so Special?
Pangkor Laut Resort has been consistently one of Asia’s top resorts for the past 15 years and with good reason. Pangkor Laut's villas have recently been upgraded and are spacious and stylishly furnished.
The award-winning spa is a delight and most guests end up visiting Pangkor Laut's Spa Village more than once during their stay.
Bear in mind
Pangkor Laut is not the place to head to for lively nightlife. As they say, Pangkor Laut is literally "One Island, One Resort" – there are no nearby restaurants or shops.
Set amongst the lush tropical gardens of the Resort and close to the pools, the Garden Villas are housed in double-storey units.
The villas on the ground floor have a huge bathtub in a private courtyard while the bathrooms in the first floor Villas open out to a view of the Resort’s beautiful tropical gardens.
Those travelling with children may opt for the Family Plan Villas - two ground floor villas adjoined from the inside, allowing for convenient access to each villa.
Perched dramatically on the hillside amidst the rainforest, these villas have a magnificent view of the forest or the sea.
Housed in double-storey units, the villas on the ground floor feature a huge bathtub in a private open courtyard while the bathrooms in the villas on the first floor offer views of the rainforest.
Some guests prefer the downstairs Hill Villas because they have a shaded terrace, whilst some like the upstairs Villas with a terrace open to the sun.

Stroll through the Feast Village and enjoy exploring the open style kitchens and serving areas. We love the ‘village style’ concept, which makes breakfast at the Feast Village a real delight and a different experience every time.
In the evenings, Feast Village introduces guests to the delights of local Malay cuisine.
Situated by Spa Village, Fisherman's Cove offers a truly unique symphony of Western Grill, fresh seafood and Italian cuisine. The dynamic open show-kitchen, stunning sea view and state-of-the-art design invite all guests to journey into the exciting world of Asian fusion cuisine.
Uncle Lim’s Kitchen
This interestingly designed restaurant is built atop a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea. Named after the chef who has been with the Resort since its inception, Uncle Lim's specialises in Nyonya and Hockchew Chinese-style home cooking.
All dishes are inspired by the unique products available locally, and made to each guest's individual tastes and requirements. Dining at Uncle Lim’s is a unique experience for those who enjoy the exotic flavours of the East.
Royal Bay Beach Club
Offering great ocean views, the Royal Bay Beach Club offers light lunches and snacks, and a variety of refreshing drinks throughout the day for those enjoying the pool and sundeck. After-dinner drinks can be enjoyed while listening to music by the resident band.
This bar is named after a famous British Colonel who sought refuge at Emerald Bay before his dramatic escape by submarine in 1945.
Chapman's Bar sits on Emerald Bay, and serves excellent light lunches daily, including sandwiches, traditional satay, salads and tasty seafood dishes. A variety of drinks are served throughout the day, a short walk from your beach chair.
The Jamu Bar, located at the Spa Village, serves authentic Japanese and healthy cuisine for lunch, overlooking the lap pool and calm sea and is available for private dining on request.
The Spa Village
The Spa Village at Pangkor Laut Resort is a unique retreat that extols the healing cultures of the region. Malaysia, with its diverse history of people and cultures, and a vast abundance of natural resources, provides the backdrop for health rituals that are amongst the oldest in the world.
The abundance of Malay, Chinese, Indian and Thai practices makes this the ideal setting for complete rejuvenation.
The Spa Village comprises a number of specially built structures designed to facilitate an extensive range of treatments from China, Japan, India, Thailand, Bali and Malaysia.
These include eight treatment pavilions, a deluxe Belian Treatment Pavilion, three 'Healing Huts', which include Chinese Herbal, Ayurvedic and Malay Huts, two Bath Houses, three Spa Huts, three Nap Gazebos and a Spa Boutique. 22 beautiful Spa Villas situated over the sea offer direct access to the Spa Village.
Programmes combine physical and spiritual health and wellbeing, and are based on one of four umbrella concepts: Rejuvenation and Longevity, Relaxation and Stress Reduction, Detoxification, and Romance.
