Inner Seychelles

Unlike its perhaps more commercialised island cousins, Mauritius and the Maldives, the Seychelles offers more opportunity to 'island hop' and discover the incredible natural beauty of the Seychelles.

Divided into the “inner” and “outer” islands, every single island in the Seychelles has its’ own distinctive feel and reason for visiting.

The most popular islands are Mahe (the largest), Praslin (the second largest) and La Digue Island.

Smaller private hotel islands such as North Island, Cerf Island, Fregate Island and Cousine Island to name but a few are within close proximity to these main three islands, together known as the Inner islands.

Over a 10 to 14 day holiday to the Seychelles, a very popular option is to visit 2 or 3 of the inner islands. We think it's a great way of making a Seychelles holiday a little bit more diverse and interesting than many single centre Indian Ocean holidays.

The Seychelles has plenty of suprises, so why not discover more of them on an Inner Seychelles island hopping holiday.

As with all of our holidays to the Seychelles, this one can be tailored to suit you, so just let us know your preferences.

Mahe Island

Mahé is the Seychelles largest island, home to the capital Victoria, 90% of the population and some of the best resorts and beaches in The Seychelles.

Mahe has some wonderful fine talcum powder beaches and is home to two of the Seychelles finest hotels: The Banyan Tree, set on a very fine beach, and the Maia Luxury Resort on Anse Louis - one of the finest resorts in the Indian Ocean.

Mahe also offers some great self catering options such as the great value Chalets D'Anse Forbans.

Praslin

Praslin, the second largest island in the Seychelles is just 40 km north east of Mahé, and is connected by twenty daily Air Seychelles flights, taking just fifteen minutes.

The 'Cat Cocos' also operates three ferry crossings daily, taking an hour. Praslin has some of the best beaches in the world and is renowned for its tranquil atmosphere.

There are some great boutique resorts on Praslin and we have featured only the best boutique resorts on Praslin, ideal for a romantic honeymoon in the Seychelles.

La Digue

Just a 40 minute traditional schooner ride from Praslin, the short trip to La Digue Island feels like stepping back in time, to a very traditional Seychelles Island, where Creole culture is strong.

La Digue’s verdant hills overlook crystal clear waters and white sand beaches, dotted with pink and grey granite boulders.

The colours of the sunsets on the rocks, sand and hills of La Digue are often an abiding memory. La Digue is a great choice for those looking for a low-key, idyllic more traditional Seychelles holiday.

Which Airlines do you use?

We work with all the major airlines flying to the Seychelles.

Typically for the Seychelles we will use British Airways for direct flights. Please note that flights are currently suspended with British Airways however - during 2021. Previously there were twice-weekly flights from Heathrow (Wednesdays and Saturdays) direct to Mahe using the Dreamliner.

The flying time for direct flights is around 10 hours, making the Seychelles a little shorter flying time than going to South East Asia.

We also commonly use Emirates via Dubai, Qatar Airways via Doha and Etihad via Abu Dhabi. These all allow stopover options in the Arabian Gulf to create a multi-centre holiday.

Regional connections from across the UK are available.

Which Hotels do you use?

We're careful with our choice of resorts in the Seychelles, but we're guided by our customers also. If you have a preferred hotel, just let us know.

We specialise in boutique hotels and so we will often suggest some of our favourite smaller hotels in the Seychelles where we think these will be suitable.

Do I need a visa for the Seychelles?

If you're travelling on British Passports, no visa is required for stays of up to a month.

Please double check before travel however as visa requirements are subject to change at any time.

How long have you been organising holidays to the Seychelles?

We've been organising tailor made holidays to the Seychelles since 2008.

We use a very reliable local partner in the Seychelles for our tours and transfers and to assist our clients in the Seychelles. They are a family owned company who are one of the most established and respected local travel companies.

We keep up to date with developments in the Seychelles with regular visits and through our local contacts.

When is the best time to visit the Seychelles?

The driest time of year to visit the Seychelles is normally between June and September.

April to May and October to November can be the best value times of year to visit the Seychelles as these are shoulder-season periods.

Please see our When To Go Guide for more detailed month by month information.

Seychelles & Covid

The Seychelles has been one of the destinations most keen to open up to tourism during the pandemic.

At the time of writing (Jan 2021), the Seychelles is in the process of vaccinating its entire population, which is expected to be completed by the end of March 2021.

The authorities in the Seychelles have advised they are accepting all vaccinated travellers as of January 2021.

Currently you will need to show an authentic certificate of vaccination and that two weeks have elapsed after the second dose (if applicable).

From late March 2021 it is anticipated there will no longer be a requirement to have been vaccinated in order to enter the Seychelles, as the population in the Seychelles should have received vaccinations by that stage.

You will still need to provide a negative PCR test taken less than 72 hours prior to travel. You will be allowed free movement throughout your stay in Seychelles.

Please note that all information is subject to change, so please check with us for the latest update.
