Ipoh

Ipoh is a coastal Malaysian city midway between Kuala Lumpur (2 hours) and Penang (90 minutes).

Ipoh marks the point where the road from the Cameron Highlands meets the coast, meaning that most visitors touring the west coast of Malaysia pass through Ipoh.

Ipoh is rapidly emerging as a tourism destination in Malaysia due to it's heritage buildings, rich culinary scene and surrounding natural attractions. The location midway between KL and Penang also makes it a great option for a stopover.

There are a few attractions in this scenic area of limestone hills, but The Benjaran Hotsprings Retreat has given good reason for considering a stopover.

This luxury wellness retreat offers the chance to break up the overland journey through Malaysia and enjoy a couple of nights or longer in one of the very few health and wellness retreats in Malaysia.

Discover Ipoh

Full Day Ipoh Tour

This tour is designed for those who only have a day to discover the beauty of Ipoh. The heart of the Kinta River marks the division between Ipoh’s Old and New Town. Explore both sides of Ipoh (and Malaysia) on this full day tour.

The old town of Ipoh reveals the state’s history with colonial buildings and some traditional businesses that are slowly fading. Ipoh's new town by contrast displays the modern side of Malaysia.

Highlights of this full day trip include one of the many cave temples, Shaik Adam Mosque, Ipoh Railway Station, a rattan weaving shop, a signboard engraving shop, a tinsmith and Little India and Kellie Castle.

The price for this day tour is based on pick-up and drop-off from Kuala Lumpur hotels but can also be done from Ipoh.
