Located within a seven-acre coconut plantation on the island of Negros, Atmosphere is a Philippines boutique resort, which enjoys a spectacular beachfront setting alongside the warm coastal waters of the Philippines.
Atmosphere Resort & Spa is opposite the famous Apo Island Marine Sanctuary and is a great choice for couples looking for a relaxing beach resort with access to excellent diving.
Opened in 2008 as an English-owner operated boutique resort, Atmosphere offers a mixture of Suites, Garden Apartments and Penthouses scattered throughout the grounds and nestled discreetly within the lush tropical gardens.
Atmosphere is most commonly reached by daily flights to Dumaguete from Manila (1.15 hours) and Cebu (20 minutes).
Atmosphere is a 30-minute drive from Dumaguete, a bustling University town with an airport, shops and dining.
Apo Island lies just 20 minutes away and is an unforgettable trip and a must for both non-divers and divers. A small fishing community inhabits the island, which also has a small chapel, a lighthouse and a marine sanctuary where the snorkeling is world-class.
Other islands in the area to visit are Siquijor, with cave systems, waterfalls and old churches to explore as well as great snorkeling and diving.
What’s so Special?
Atmosphere is great for divers as the world-renowned Apo Island with its walls, stunning coral, turtles and schooling fish is just a short boat ride away. Atmosphere’s English owners are dive instructors, so the resort is well set up for divers.
Snorkelling with Whale sharks is one of the most amazing experiences in season – just 90 minutes from the resort. Bais, two-hours away is also a great spot for early morning dolphin and whale watching cruises.
The mountain ridge behind Atmosphere is home to many serene lakes and thundering waterfalls and the local indigenous culture means there is plenty to discover, and trips to Dumaguete city are also popular.
Bear in mind
The resort is a little bit isolated and there’s nothing really within walking distance.
Suites
The 14 Suites look out over the lush green lawn and tropical gardens to the Sanctuary Spa beyond.
Suites feature a small private outdoor garden with an outdoor Rainforest shower.
Each suite has a California King-size bed as standard but twin share is also an option. Beds have crisp Egyptian cotton linens and bathrooms soft white fluffy towels.
A third bed can be made up for a third adult or an older child. For younger children, a cot is available on request.
Apartments
The 8 Garden Apartments offer the luxury of a spacious lounge with a dining area and a fully fitted kitchen.
Sliding doors lead seamlessly out onto a veranda with an outdoor dining area and seated hammock.
Master bedrooms have floor to ceiling picture windows looking out onto private pocket gardens.
The apartment fits two people comfortably and can be equipped with a cot for an infant, we would recommend the penthouses for families with older children.
Penthouses
The four penthouses (over 200 sq. m.) are Atmosphere's flagship and most luxurious accommodation.
These beautiful spacious Penthouses consist of a master bedroom and guest bedroom, modern en-suite bathrooms and an open plan fully fitted kitchen overlooking a huge living and dining area.
The huge external balcony has room for eating and lounging.
The penthouse fits four people in two separate bedrooms. Cots for infants are available on request.

The emphasis in Blue is on a personal dining experience, from a sumptuous steak, a soft soufflé or the freshest of daily seafood delicacies.

Diving
At Atmosphere you can take full advantage of some of the world's best scuba diving. The world renowned Apo Island with its walls, stunning coral and schooling fish is a short boat ride away.
Some of the world’s rarest critters compete for the underwater photographer’s attention along the Dauin coastline where Atmosphere is situated.
The Dive Centre offers a full range of PADI courses, as well as instructor courses, photography classes and workshops and marine life presentations. Whether a beginner diver, a snorkeller or an experienced underwater photographer, Atmosphere will cater to your every need.
Dive Centre
At the heart of the resort lies Atmosphere’s state of the art Dive Centre. Guests enjoy private dive equipment storage spaces, wireless internet, nitrox, a camera/video room with private work space for each diver, a retail boutique, full equipment rental and a spacious briefing area.
The large infinity pool is divided into a shallow and deep area which makes it ideal for scuba courses, the ocean is then just a step away.
Dive Sites
The marine sanctuaries lining the Dauin coastline are regarded as some of the best in the world for macro photographers in search of exquisitely rare shots.
Apo Island is a scuba diver's heaven and has been a well-preserved marine sanctuary for the past 20 years and has an international reputation as one of the most diverse and stunning collections of corals in Asia Pacific.
Atmosphere’s local Dive Masters will show you the highlights of each dive, whether it be unusual critters or lush corals.
