With just 117 rooms, including 23 suites, Upper House boutique hotel in Hong Kong offers style and luxury in the sky, in a designer hotel from Andre Fu, one of the most sought after design talents in Asia.

Tranquillity in the form of a serene residence above the bustling city is the key theme of the Upper House Hong Kong, and its defining feature. The hotel has a luxury resort like feel.

Right on top of Pacific Place Mall in the Central District on Hong Kong Island, Upper House Hong Kong is the perfect location for some serious shopping in the designer boutiques of Pacific Place. The MTR (underground) and the Star Ferry are both close by.

Upper House Hong Kong is a hotel with gorgeous design at its heart, with intriguing spaces, playful lighting and a thoughtful use of natural materials.

The atmosphere at the Upper House Hong Kong is relaxed and personal, a far cry from the hustle and bustle of many of Hong Kong’s business hotels or the stuffiness of some of the grander hotels in Hong Kong.

What’s so Special?

Upper House Hotel Hong Kong is certainly our favourite luxury boutique hotel in Hong Kong. The views are unparalleled and the hotel has such a great design and resort-like feel.

At 70 square metres, the Studio Rooms are enormous for Hong Kong and the views from 38 floors up are superb (especially from the bathtubs, but remember the view can work both ways!). Upper Suites offer views from the living room, bedroom and bath.

In-room paperless check-in is a nice touch and a take-away breakfast in the event of early departures. Each room comes with an iPod Touch, loaded with music, games and local information.

Arrival on the ground floor lobby area is intriguing, with an escalator disappearing into the floor above, creating something of a sense of mystery, or ‘journey’.

A small but revealing touch – a high quality selection of Ren toiletries comes packaged in a complimentary toilet bag, within which has been placed a clear plastic bag – ready to sweep everything into to go through customs!

Bear in mind

There’s no pool at the Upper House and no spa, although spa treatments can be arranged in-room.

Rooms are on the 38th floor and upwards; giving the hotel it’s name and are subtly fitted out in warm natural materials, light woods and neutral shades.

The window seat loungers are nice features. Some rooms face inland but the best rooms overlook Victoria Harbour.

Rooms are very spacious indeed by Hong Kong standards, particularly the bathrooms, many of which offer views from the tub (remember the views can work both ways!).

Studio 70

These rooms, the largest Studio rooms in Hong Kong are about 70 square metres in size, with large picture windows offering scenic island or harbour views.

King-sized beds, walk-in rain showers, separate dressing areas and freestanding bathtubs are luxuries not common in a city where space is at an absolute premium.

Rooms are contemporary in style with subtle lighting and use of natural materials. Bathrooms are particularly gorgeous.

Studio 80

At around 80 square metres, these studio rooms offer more space than Studio 70 rooms and spa-inspired bathrooms with walk-in rain showers and freestanding bathtubs overlooking the Hong Kong skyline. Rooms come with a choice of island or harbour view.

Upper Suites

Almost 115 square metres of space is a real luxury in Hong Kong, offering space to lounge and relax, and to admire the views. The L-shaped sofas in the lounge and the cushioned window seats help to create a relaxing living area.

Features in all Rooms & Suites:

  • Air Con
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Flat screen TV with Satellite channels
  • iPod
  • Fridge
  • Maxibar (Free soft drinks, beer and snacks. Wine chargeable – but reasonably priced)
  • Espresso machine
  • Ren Toiletries with cosmetic bag

Café Gray Deluxe

Awesome views of the harbour and fantastic and creative cuisine are the hallmarks of Café Gray Deluxe, Upper House’s chi-chi café.

Powder-blue

Powder Blue is the Upper House bar, which features a 14-metre-long marble bar offering free Wi-Fi and creative cocktails.

This is one of Hong Kong’s most popular bars and a stylish location for evening drinks with the amazing views of the lights of Hong Kong on show below.
