Maliba Lodge is the first and only 5-star lodge in Lesotho, Southern Africa and is located in a pristine national park, making it an ideal base for an active getaway and to discover the delights of this Mountain Kingdom.
Maliba Lodge is situated within the Ts’ehlanyane National Park in Northern Lesotho, a scenic 1 hour drive from the popular South African Free State town of Clarens or a pleasant 4.5 hour drive from Johannesburg Airport.
A mix of accommodation options is offered at Maliba Lodge, from the luxurious chalets to self-catering lodges, which are perfect for families, groups of friends, and couples on a tighter budget.
The chalets are private, spacious and very luxurious, with huge bathrooms, cosy fireplaces, super-comfy beds and private decks which offer stunning views of the valley below.
The award-winning Maliba Lodge has a spa, Bana Kids Club, 5-star restaurant, and amazing staff that cater for your every need.

What’s so Special?
Drive into Lesotho from the low-key border post with South Africa and it seems like you have entered a different world. The 50 km speed limit seems like a prescription to slow the pace, drink in the scenery and feel like you have arrived in the ‘real Africa’.
Maliba has a strong community and eco-friendly focus, with several measures introduced to maximize community upliftment and minimize its environmental footprint.
Bear in mind
At 2,000-metre altitude, the air is a little bit thinner here and the mornings and evenings chilly even in Spring and Summer. The first snows arrive in autumn and winter sees the area blanketed with snow.
There is no Internet at Maliba Lodge.
