Twenty minutes from the centre of Ubud, Hanging Gardens of Bali offers 38 private pool villas each with a heated private infinity plunge pool set high in the rice terraces overlooking the Ayung river.

What's so Special?

Hanging Gardens of Bali has a fantastic design, in keeping with the magnificent location. A little funicular train transports guests up and down the terraces.

It's definitely all about the views at Hanging Gardens of Bali. There's nowehere really in Ubud which quite matches Hanging Gardens of Bali for the views over the valley from the villas.

We love the villas' oversized bathtubs – definitely big enough for 2!

Bear in mind

The location isn't close to Ubud and it's a bit of a drive into Ubud itself. Also bear in mind that the villas at Hanging Gardens of Bali aren't totally private.

Dining is high quality but there are no other options around, and meals and drinks are priced accordingly.

Riverside Villas

Riverside Deluxe Pool Villas have been designed in the traditional Balinese style and have either a king sized four-poster bed or two twin beds with a large en-suite bathroom with hand finished terrazzo polished stone bath.

Villas are set high on wooden pillars alongside terraced gardens, with a private infinity pool heated to a minimum of 29°C all year round.

The floor to ceiling windows create a sense of resting among the aerial gardens and the terrace is a great place to relax and listen to the river rushing below.

Hanging Gardens of Bali restaurants offer spectacular views of the vast valley, temple and gorges over the Ayung River.

The Garden

The Restaurant, with its astonishing position overlooking the Dalem Segara temple and the World’s Best Swimming Pool.

The chefs offer a menu of International specialties, creatively combining traditional dishes with contemporary culinary techniques.

Fresh, organic vegetables, fruits and spices are sourced from Bedugul farms as well as from the hotel's own land.

Garden Bar

The Garden Bar is a partially open-air bar and lounge, located below the restaurant, overlooking the world’s most celebrated Swimming Pool and the Ayung River’s valley.

Garden Bar is acclaimed as one of the best resort bars in Ubud, offering a comprehensive and eclectic mix of innovative and classical cocktails and premium table wines.

Raw

The menu at Raw features traditional South American Ceviche with the hints and essences of traditional Indonesia herbs and spices as well as a selection of delicious and fresh fish Carpaccios and sashimi.

Tasting sessions are presented daily between 3 and 8 pm.

Private Dining & picnics

Guests can enjoy romantic in-villa dining with a romantic candle-lit table on the private deck. Picnics can also be arranged to take on excursions or even to dine in a romantic spot within the hotel grounds.

Lunch can be enjoyed in the jungle over the Ayung River on the bamboo deck or in the middle of the rice fields.

Select from a range of romantic dining experiences, such as notably renowned Romantic Temple Dinner, set in a sacred and magical location, followed by a walk and purification ritual with a local mangku and a Traditional Balinese Blessing ritual, made by the local priest.

Guests may also try our candlelit ‘Romance under the Stars’, dining ‘à deux’ on a volcanic rock pillar in our iconic swimming pool; or a gourmet picnic served in a secluded balé right on the banks of the spectacular Ayung River.

Infinity Swimming Pool

The huge elliptical infinity pool emphasizes the natural curves of the hillside, standing on two levels and surrounded by stylish and comfortable sunbeds.

In addition to the main pool, each room and suite has its own individual infinity pool, which can be accessed from the villa terrace for extra exclusivity and seclusion.

Gardens

The grand gardens offer a spectacle of exotic trees and tropical flora including cocoa, coffee, durian and a variety of bamboos, flame trees and orchids.
