With a strong British, Dutch and Portuguese influence, a heady air of faded colonial grandeur hangs over this strategic town on the Strait of Malacca. The unique Peranakan culture is very prevalent here, a mix of Chinese and local Malay, most readily experienced through the excellent local cuisine. The Majestic Malacca is a wonderful excuse to add Malacca to any Malaysian holiday. Kuala Lumpur International Airport is only 45 minutes away, making Malacca just as easy to get to as Kuala Lumpur itself.
